@Countchocula25 @boxandwhiskers Thanks for the information, guys. It’s not that I’m worried about it, it’s just that one of the schools that I attended does not allow students to access unofficial transcripts through their web portal. You have to go to the school if you want a print-out of it, and I live several hundred miles away from them now. I guess I’ll cross that bridge if/when it happens, though.
LOLOL I guess all you can do is hope they don’t
You should order a transcript as a PDFs file sent to you, then take a scan of that and send it. I do have AR applied to quite a bit. I sent UCI a message about this and I was told it’s ok to use an academic history from a school online account. For my other schools I scanned transcripts. I am so so so glad I ordered those in the past and updated them after AR. We will see… I guess we won’t hear anything as transfers till April.
@BackNSchool83 It’s a school in Los Angeles county that’s so behind that they do everything either in person, via phone, or via snail mail. I once asked them for a letter of verification that I attended school there and they told me to print out a form on their website and send it to them in the mail. But that was smart of you to order them beforehand. I hope everything works out for you
Well thanks I wish the same for you too
LOL I just got that email but from UCSB. Nice
@BackNSchool83 @Countchocula25 @aepaige I got one too, but probably because of a gap in academic history (at least that’s what they asked to explain), I have never had an AR.
@lenocturne I had a gap in academic history, but I explained it on the application. I’m sure you did that, too. Maybe they wanted more of an explanation???
I had a gap and they sent me an email asking me to be more descriptive.
Yeah same. I had a gap. No questions about that. Probably just a random audit email for you @lenocturne
@aepaige I have a feeling that they did not even look at the comment section. I explained everything in detail, yet they were asking about exactly the same time interval. Oh, wellz. Let’s hope for the best!
@Countchocula25 probably
@lenocturne Maybe they’re taking a closer look at you because they want to let you in?? Haha.
Hi everyone, this is my first time applying to colleges and I am noob.
Stats:
Major: Business Information Management
GPA: 3.70 (will go up after this semester)
IGETC: No, 2 more classes left.
Major Prep: Will complete at the end of this semester.
ECs: Work in an IT department, local community service at my church.
I applied to UCI (signed my TAG), USC, UCSC and Cal Poly. Do you guys think I have a chance with any of these colleges? Thank you in advance.
Anyone an English major hoping to transfer?
@aepaige My thoughts exactly! :)) Feels like an interrogation though.
I am still undecided on UCI, as I live in San Diego, and was just offered an amazing job here. So, if they reject me just based on the gap in my education, I won’t be devastated. And if they accept me, and I decide not to go, hopefully this will open a spot for someone else on this thread.
@lenocturne Truuuuue. Did you apply to UCSD? The campus is very nice, though a good chunk of it was under construction when I went for Triton Day last year.
Anyone here know why some majors are required to take an “Introduction to Programming using Python” class even if you aren’t a computer science major? I’m business econ and I’m having such a hard time already in this class!
@by3000 I don’t know why, but it is only fair. I had to take my share of econ, psychology, philosophy, etc - all as a part of GE, and I am not econ, psych or philosophy major.
@aepaige That is currently my first choice, given my circumstances, but I doubt I can get in missing 3 prereqs. CS major is one of the most impacted ones there sighs.
I hope I hear from UCI in March. UCI with a Regent’s scholarship is the one thing that could possibly sway me away from Berkeley and UCLA (if accepted to them).
@Cheolf do you now if they notify people who were awarded the Regent’s Scholarship before the regular admission date?
