i googled “UCI waitlist thread” and this is the second post: “I’ve heard that UCI has a all or nothing policy with waitlists, seeing from the fact that all the students from the waitlist got admitted last year but none were admitted 2010, etc etc”
This was posted in 2013 when 1% got in. It’s kind of scary.
Yeah we should make one because we’ll have to wait until the end of June, so we’ll be doing this for 2 more months.

@csgirl19 thank you, yeah I didn’t notice any CS majors last year from the waitlist getting accepted, so it doesn’t look good. What’s your status now @csgirl19 ?
I’m wondering is there really have rejections release from uci as officers said? Because I didnot see rejections in the discussion before today and today in 2015 transfer thread.
@lugi350 I don’t remember, they took really long, I wanna say at the end of May. You have a pretty good chance of getting off the waitlist if your major is not engineering.

@hiimfriendly That’s what it looks like… There was someone before who said the admissions office rep told him that they have had years that accepted all from the waitlist. Haven’t found it yet.

@uctransfer16 I think we should wait until most people have gotten a decision to make a waitlist thread, so we can all migrate to that thread. I’m sure the decisions will be coming soon. It will also be less confusing for transfer people next year, and that may include me. After the majority of the decisions come out we’ll post the waitlist thread here, so right before this thread dies, when people look at the last pages next year they’ll see there’s a waitlist thread.
@csgirl19 do you have a back up school this year? I’m assuming you didn’t have one last year. Mine is CPP but my speech class got cancelled even though I got admitted to CPP. I’ll make sure I’ll have some more back ups next year.
I wasn’t even thinking about transferring to a UC a few years ago until I started getting a string of A’s then I found out about TAG, and I started fantasizing about UCI. Then Calculus 1, 2, and 3 happened, and it slapped me back to reality. I used my TAG to UCI but my GPA went down to 3.33 now it’s voided, so I’ll use it to UCSB next year on a non CS major just in case I don’t get in again to UCI next year.
Hi guys, I just got rejected from UCI this morning.
Here are my stats:
Major: Computer Science
GPA: 3.78
TAG: No
No notable EC’s
I submitted my application last minute so my personal statements were probably a bit sloppy and not too well thought out. I was working almost full time but failed to mention that. I have a few W’s, mostly due to dropping classes after a major change.

@chiapuffs I have a bunch of Ws I don’t think that’s it. I personally don’t think essays are that important, so are you sure you have your pre req’s done? because your GPA is really good.
Hey guys. Rejected this morning. I didn’t get an email so make sure you check your portal and stuff.
Said this before but major was art, 3.76 GPA, will have 70+ credits and my AA by the time of transfer, prereqs complete and reasonable essays/extracurriculars/etc.
Very confused because it’s not a particularly competitive major and I’m not sure what I did wrong? (Though everyone says that, right.)
The number for the admissions office is monday through friday but I’ll probably call monday. I’m sure it’s not a mistake but I’m still… y’know. Clinging to false hope here. Good luck to everyone else and congratulations to those waitlisted or accepted!
