And about the batch admittance, I think that it has nothing to do with last name. Based on my observation, it has to do with the department. On the first batch (from March 17), I noticed that most people who got accepted were under Letter and Science department. Then on Monday March 24, I think it was the batch for Engineering department because both me and my friend/classmate got accepted on that day.

Based on my financial aid, I am eligible in Blue + Gold program. However, I don’t see any difference =-( . Under “Unofficial Grants and Scholarships,” I only have possible cal grant eligibility, federal pell grant, UCSB grant and no scholarship. Its either because this letter is indeed unofficial (more general) or I did not get any.

Anyways, CONGRATULATION to those who got accepted!!, I hope that those who got rejected will get in to their second preferred school, and BE PATIENT to those who are still waiting.

GO GAUCHOS!!!

Also received the packet yesterday. I personally find UCSD’s much more appealing than UCSB’s, but that’s just my input.

UCSB is my first choice excluding other non-academic factors. But I know that money is a big factor in education because it could affect your GPA, generally, your student life big time. However, I mean, honestly, if there isnt any big difference on the figure it should not affect the preference of school.

Rejected for Computer Science (Today at 5pm)

Was worth a shot, but I knew I wasn’t getting in. My classes were geared more for another university.

Good luck to everyone!

My daughter was accepted first round. She filed her SIR online on Monday. Yesterday she received a confirmation in the mail that it was received…however she still has not received her official acceptance package. Did this happen to anyone else? Does the package include financial info?

Although I haven’t filed for SIR, I was also accepted for the first batch. The package didn’t include financial aid information.

@SockherMom

Don’t worry, there’s no urgent financial information in the package. It’s just some promotional stuff from the school, really, along with an acceptance letter.

At the top of my daughters Unofficial Financial Award letter it states

Congratulations Blue and Gold you are eligible

Under what category of aid does this show up in the actual award?

Submitted my SIR for UCSB. UCLA’s regents can go to hell. Sorry, I just hate Los Angeles, as a city. It’s like a tumor.

I would go to Berkeley, but that’s a bit close to home. No, I think UCSB is the place for me.

Still pending. I have a feeling I’m going to be waiting till April 30th only because I already have apartment arrangements and my friends are waiting on me to sign.

@Bludge I really don’t think that is the reason
