@5nonnegotiables I think that really depends on your major

@HappyRabbit123

Sorry but can I ask what is your former foreign university? Im within the same boat and got a terrible transcript there. Even though I change my major completely in the current CCC but still rather worrying…

@TT4UCOSBEL A university in China. The way UCSB convert my grades maximize my disadvantage =

@HappyRabbit123 How did you figure out how many of your credits were transferable / convert your grades to ucsb? i also have a transcript from a university abroad along with completing igetc at a ccc and was worried about hitting the unit cap. still waiting to hear back from the uc’s though.

@transferccsophu I give them a call for the info

@HappyRabbit123 I know that China is one of the countries that has recognized universities around the world. So it must be that your previous university is also recognized and accredited here in United States. Therefore, your grades/GPA was accounted to your admission’s decision. Other universities that you applied to may also account this factor.

Don’t get me wrong. I am in the same boat as you - actually, worse than your case. I have college credits from a foreign country. I took courses there for about one and a half year and have a terrible GPA. In addition, I started here at the very beginning so I have more than 100 units as of now and only have about average GPA. I guess that my college in foreign country is not accredited and the courses I took there has no equivalence and irrelevant to any UC. Also, most of the courses I took here - the reason I have 100+ units - are all remedial courses and only from CC.

@dwencel24 You are luck then. Sorry for making you nervous.

Rejected at some unknown time because I don’t check every 2 seconds.

Major: Psychology
IGETC: Completed by Summer 2014
TAG: No
Applied: UCSB, UCSD, UCD, UCSC
Accepted: —
Rejected: UCSB

I looked up my major and saw that UCSB requires a Calculus class and some people said it’s an “automatic reject” if a Psychology major doesn’t have Calculus. So weird that a Psychology major would need Calculus. Anyway, I don’t have the most competitive GPA in the world either. I’ll only be jumping off a bridge if UCSD rejects me too.

Good luck everybody.

Accepted!

I will be honors certified after this semester and I think my statements were pretty good

any feedback is welcome

@Ameezus There’s no reason why they would reject you if you are TAG certified, you’re pretty much in unless you have something missing

TAG doesn’t guarantee getting into your major of choice so that the only thing I would worry about but I still think you have a good chance to get into your major

@Ameezus
UCSB doesn’t look at PS, unless it’s a special case. Only UCB, UCLA, UCI and UCI looks at them for transfer.

@Harren thank you! That’s reassuring. I really want to go to UCSB or UCSD

@Toyshi really? I’ve heard otherwise but I don’t know honestly

@Ameezus
google UC Transfer Matrix and page 8 -9 talks about it. There’s other useful info in there too.

All these news about violent riots at UCSB’s Deltopia make me wonder if it reconsiders any one’s thoughts on attending SB?

@ocnative

I might just turn down other UCs for Santa Barbara. ;)

I was accepted a few days ago.
