Official UCSB 2014 Transfer Thread

LOL I was just at Deltopia.

It was crazy, riot police, tear gas, people were tearing stop signs down and throwing bottles at cop cars.

From what what I understand, there were 15000 people on the streets of Isla Vista; mostly out of towners who were causing the problems. Deltopia started as Floatopia, on the beaches, but they shut that down a few years ago so the party headed to the streets…big mistake. My daughter said by yesterday afternoon the place was all cleaned up except that all the Stop signs had been removed from the corners

Awesome. I want to live in the middle of that. It sounds exciting!!!

@Ameezus for TAG they are looking for student with GPA 3.6 or higher (Engineering major). This year is extremely competitive :-<

@HappyRabbit123‌ what do you mean 3.6? Their tag requirement is a 3.2

@Ameezus 3.6 for engineering major 3.2 for others :-<

@HappyRabbit123 @Ameezus Just to clarify, for engineers it’s 3.2 GPA (Overall), but you have to have a 3.6 GPA in your Core classes. (Core classes being, Math, Physics, Chemistry, programming, and engineering classes). GE classes do not count towards your core GPA.

@SRJCEngineer‌ thanks

@happyRabbit123 @SRJCEngineer @Ameezus The GPA TAG requirement for engineers is actually just 3.4. Where are you getting your information from? My source is the TAG Matrix. Page 4 to be exact.

“Minimum 3.2 overall GPA for all majors by the
end of fall 2013 and maintained through spring
2014. For Engineering and Computer Science
majors - minimum 3.4 GPA for all major
preparation courses.”

<a href=“University of California Counselors”>University of California Counselors;

@CollegeDropout1‌ this sheet is for 2014-2015

The following GPA requirements apply for the College of Engineering TAG. Applicants must:
 Earn an overall minimum 3.20 GPA in all UC transferable course work by the end of fall 2013;
 Earn a minimum 2.0 GPA in all UC transferable course work in fall 2013 term;
 Earn an overall minimum 3.40 GPA in all major preparatory course work by the end of fall 2013;
 Maintain an overall minimum 3.40 GPA in all major preparatory course work through the end of
spring 2014;
 Earn a minimum 2.0 GPA in all UC transferable course work in spring 2014 term.

@CollegeDropout1‌ You are right

My bad, on assist it says
“In order for an applicant to
be competitive, the GPA in the required and recommended preparation courses
should be at least 3.6.”
I got it mixed up with the Tag…
