@kingdoms- YAY!!! haha I’m so happy for you, I feel like I could feel your anticipation!
well congratulations! what a horrible wait they put you through!
So you still thinking the village? or transfer community?

@ Kingdoms: Allriiiiight! The moment we have all been waiting for, Congrats mannn! =]. Rejected from Merced? Seriously? That’s odd, oh well. So are you going to SIR right away?

ok so i got an email saying that you’re required to declare your major in the 1st or 2nd quarter of attendance. is this at the beginning or the end of the quarter? and i have 3 physics courses that are required to be completed before i can declare an astrophysics major. what if i complete 1 in the 1st quarter and the other 2 in the 2nd quarter, would that work? if it doesn’t and we are forced to declare a major, can i declare something and then change it later once i meet the requirements? are there any exceptions/can you petition?
i already emailed the physics adviser but i am awaiting a response. hopefully you guys will have some input.

@kingdom was accepted and flew the coup. no more time for college confidential. bon voyage.

@kingdom

Yayyyy! Congrats, I am so happy for you. I’ve been rooting for you, lol.

hahahah noooooooo kingdom come back! dont do this to us!

yay kingdom!!! woooooooooo:)

btw is anyone planning on staying at the transfer community?

just checked my account and got accepted! :)

@anexia i got that email too, but i believe baskin school of engineer doesnt follow it.

@md21887
congratulaciones

Thanks everyone! I sense that the wait has been somewhat funny for everybody to watch me go through! lol

@beachbum- I’m not sure…I’ve been looking into housing options more thoroughly now since I actually know that I have my foot in the door at UCSC. Trying to sort through and pick college affiliations, etc.

@anexia- I’m not entirely sure. I got that email too. You probably just have to try to declare something at that time…I know I personally wont have all the prerequisites done by the second semester, so I wonder what they would do for something like that…?

@northbeach- Haha, no! I was just really busy yesterday. Family was calling, talking to friends, school. You know the drill. I’m going to stick around for quite some time and see everybody else’s results! Part of me wants to help future transfers next year as well…I enjoy helping people!

@dremaniac- We’re required to stay at the transfer community for at least one quarter if you chose to live on campus. If you mean Porter specifically, I dunno.

@md- Congratz!

@kingdom
you should print this thread. you have held up incredibly well under the stain of waiting so long for your admission decision. and never once were you whining, just positive supportive posts the entire time. i am so impressed! seriously, UCSC is lucky to get you.

yes @kingdom you have been great northbeach is 100% correct, UCSC is lucky to have you. Also, if we have to living in the transfer community, then shouldnt me pick porter as our college? Just saying because it might be hard to live at porter but all of your college activities are at stevenson or something.

@northbeach and @kingdom thanks!

@ northbeach and dremaniac- Haha, thanks guys! I appreciate it. Hopefully it gives some hope to potential future transfers that are going through the same thing. And Dremaniac- Many people opt to pick their college association as porter just for means of convenience, but if you do chose to pick another college, you have the option of moving in there after a semester. The idea of the individual colleges is to surround yourself with people of similar interest, but I think the Transfer Community kind of defeats that purpose…

isn’t that neat how santa cruz is set up like the english schools. just like cambridge an oxford actually. very neat. the school is truly a hidden gem. are you guys going to lick some slugs when you get there? haha

who knows, the transfer community may be about keeping the older kids from corrupting the innocent freshmans with alcohol and women?

^ i hope so! more alcohol and women for us! :D

@north- Absolutely! Its kind of the tradition, you know? Supposedly running naked during the first full day of rain is also tradition…Maybe I’ll partake, to some degree. We had an undie run at ColoState while I was there and needless to say, I think the boys were dressed more risque than the girls! And the freshman…well, everybody knows the corruption had already started in high school. :D

@anything- I take it you’re attending UCSC, then? Maybe I’ll run into you then, but I’ll be sure to steer clear of you if you’ve got ladies on your arm and booze in hand.

For serious though, when I get to SC I’m going to post a sign on my door “CC folks welcome”…hahaha. Wouldn’t that be funny? I wonder if anybody would actually come in!

@kingdom yes I am Santa Cruz bound for sure! lol all this talk of women and booze, i feel like there will be great urge to start a community of pirates there. Summer classes for me (second session) start in about 3 months! super excited.

Yes all of us CC’s should explore the campus secrete stuff like tree nine and the lime kilns together or something
