Official UCSC Transfer 2012 Decisions

^Lol, wouldn’t it be easier just to make it a group so people dont have to keep friend requesting it? An open group would suffice, I think… If anybody thinks we should do that, I’d be more than happy to make one. I just don’t want to make one if it seems like I would be “one-upping” Dremaniac.

@beachbum- Ahh. I’d rather not shlep my stuff around campus after the end of the Summer term…Also, my FAFSA is really up in the air right now. SC is making me prove that I’m a CA resident, so I don’t know if I’d be able to get the in-state tuition for the Summer…

@isteal- Congratz doode! Please tell me your SIR’ing. Man, I really want to meet/hang out with all of you up at UCSC! You guys all seem so chill, and it would definitely make things easier knowing a few people going into this fall, dont you think? :)

@uchappy- Sorry you wont be attending UCSC! I hope you have fun up at Davis though!

@kate- Congratz! You’re near Riverside too? I’m in Riverside county…Live in a place called Canyon Lake, ever hear of it? What city do you live in?

@jnguyen471- I think SIR deposits are non-refundable…Have you called SC and asked them whats going on? What does your major come up as when you check the portal?

@kingdom yeah your right a fb group might have been a better idea! post the group page on here if u set it up plz!

ok nevermind just created a group. Let me know if u guys r able to join it

@kingdom I live in Lake Elsinore! of course I know where Canyon Lake is!!! I’m so excited! Now, I’m going to go join the Fb group. :)

^No way! I didn’t actually think I would meet anybody here on CC that would live close to the pits like I do! That is beyond exciting, especially if we meet up at UCSC and could bond over the fact of common background! :)

It’s UCSC’s deadline and I still don’t haven’t got a decision on MyUCSC. What a fail. I’m glad I’m going to UCLA. Haha

Congratulations! The Jack Baskin School of Engineering (BSOE) is pleased to admit you to the computer science major for fall 2012. Only highly qualified applicants have been selected for admission to the BSOE based on their self-reported academic record. Our decision to admit you to the major is contingent upon confirmation of this information when your official transcripts are received.

We look forward to talking with you about why you should choose our campus for your undergraduate education. Our faculty is composed of outstanding researchers and dedicated teachers, and has been honored with national awards in both areas. Our instructional laboratories provide students with state-of-the-art equipment. Since you are a transfer student who will be taking primarily upper-division course work for your major, our small classes make an excellent environment for classroom study, intimate student-teacher interaction, and independent research. Also, the campus’s proximity to Silicon Valley and our close interaction with the industries there create a fantastic opportunity for internships and your future career. Please let us know if you have specific areas of interest in engineering and we will put you in contact with faculty with similar interests.

We invite you to visit both the campus and the School of Engineering. To reserve your place in a student-led campus tour, go to admissions.ucsc.edu/visit/campus-tours.html. Summer Orientation for transfer students is Friday, July 20, 2012.

If you choose to enroll at UCSC for fall 2012, a BSOE academic adviser will contact you in order to request transcripts and to coordinate the review of your transfer courses for equivalency to major requirements. If you have taken courses for the major that have not been articulated, you will need to provide course descriptions and syllabi for this review. In preparation for this request, please begin to gather this information now.

Over the summer, your transfer courses need to be officially evaluated by the appropriate department to determine if they will be used to meet major requirements. After this review is complete, an adviser will assist you with selection and enrollment in courses for fall.

Please remember that your admission to the campus is subject to the conditions outlined by the Office of Admissions. Refer to your “Conditions of Admission” page on the portal, my.ucsc.edu. Also, as a reminder, you will need to accept your offer of admission on my.ucsc.edu no later than June 1, 2012.

Again, I hope you will find the Jack Baskin School of Engineering will be the right choice for you, and I look forward to welcoming you this fall.
Congratulations! The Jack Baskin School of Engineering (BSOE) is pleased to inform you that you have been conditionally accepted into the computer science: computer game design major for the UCSC - TAG Program. You are to be commended for this achievement, as guaranteed admission to a Jack Baskin School of Engineering (BSOE) major is highly selective. Our programs give you a chance to study with the renowned researchers and dedicated teachers of the BSOE and to participate as an undergraduate in the creation of new ideas and discoveries. I look forward to welcoming you to campus.

Please remember that this offer of admission to the major is contingent upon your following all aspects of your TAG agreement with our campus. Your conditional admission to this major is also subject to maintaining your high level of achievement in the foundation courses for the major. If you change the course of study that is listed in your TAG application, please contact us immediately, since this could affect your guarantee of acceptance to the major.
