I am so surprised. I never took an AP before this year so that was a strike on Academic Rigor. I also doubted my essay only because I was very critical of my application. The University of Chicago was my first choice and my reach school as well so I wanted to get in so bad that every little mistake made me worry that I wouldn’t get in. I really didn’t think I had what it takes. I had an ounce of hope so I held off applying elsewhere and thank god it paid off.

I’m one of those kids whose friends always tell them there’s no way they won’t succeed, but I never believe them. I’m going to go cry tears of joy for another few hours before I order all of my Christmas gifts from the UChicago store…

[] Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: I had a horrible first two years in high school, e.g. the ‘D’ in Honors Biology did not get balanced out by an ‘A’ in Honors College Biology.

I can only blame myself for the academic sins that I committed when I was younger. Congratulations to those of you who were accepted, or were at least deferred, you obviously proved you were more deserving of going to Chicago.
