ahh frieking out for next year!
AP English
AP US History
AP Enviromental Science
AP Psychology
Pre-Calc
Journalism 3
Spanish 4

Always wanted to go to UNC for college, but outta state (with legacy), so its gonna be rough! I don’t want to go to junior year! SAT’s, and APs, and sports…so stressful!

I took ap bio and ap world

im also going to take those sat 2s

Think about how nice it’ll feel second semester of senior year with your fat college acceptance letter :]

@ aigiqinf…you are joking, right? AP German? LOL

Oh well, I’ll just take english 11 Honors… I don’t want to overload my schedule

Handy rule of thumb: nobody beats DataBox.

I’m not trying to beat or compete with DataBox or anything, we just happen to have similar interests and pursuits. Likewise, there are also differences between us and our interests, so it’s hard to compare us just based on our schedules. I’m trying to get into the best school possible and still enjoy high school, and I’m sure DataBox has similar aspirations.

Haha we should rename this thread… “Databox Worshipers”"

^ LOL. I think we srsly need a change of subject sooo. . .what are you guys’ summer plans?

Haha, I love the level of naivety on this forum (aka dunbar). Obviously the most reasonable way to compare the caliber of students is to compare the classes that they are taking. That makes perfect sense…not…what a flawed approach, you have to look at everything in context. I go to a school where I will have exhausted about 90% of the AP classes by the end of my junior year, a district (seven schools, ~1200-1800 students each) that has only seen two olympiad qualifiers (usamo, usabo, usapho, usacho, naclo, etc) in the past 40 years. Thus, it is completely illogical to compare me to anyone on this board simply based on classes. Also, once one has a challenging courseload, taking four ap’s instead of nine ap’s isn’t going to adversely affect one if they are investing that time in some other activity that may yield better results than an overly hectic course schedule.

summer plans: research, linear algebra and physics classes @ columbia, piano competitions, volunteering, tennis, sleeping, eating

Courses:
AP Calc BC
AP Bio
AP USH
AP Japanese
American Lit
Physics (local cc)
Psychology (local cc)

I’m slacking off by taking regular american lit next year. lol @ lazy juniors.

Main Goals:
10 hours of beauty sleep, 1 hours of exercise, get semi-asian grades

Minor Goals:
win local science fair, pwn noobs on star craft 2…etc

FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE READING CRAZY POSTS AND ARE LIKE ■■■:
psh, why so serious? life is like soooo overrated :p

I have 4 classes this summer ■■■

<<<…semi-asian grades>>>

That made me titter. :P

Summer plans for me: language study [Latin, Spanish, French], couple of CC classes maybe, getting back into running, lots of writing partly because I’m applying for the Davidson Fellowship, reading, video games, visiting some colleges on the East Coast, friends, sleep. (: Oh, and maybe some SAT prep. Gross.

@aigiqinf:
What classes are you taking, and why don’t you want to take them?

I’m applying too… what are you applying in?

See, I included my summer classes in my schedule, because that’s what my school does.

I’m taking Civics and Economics Honors, Earth/Environmental Science Honors, English III Honors, and I have to continue Physics Honors because I haven’t finished it during the semester I signed up to take it. They are all online and seeing how I’ve pretty much completed 12 online classes I’m kind of tired and I’d like a break for just a bit.

Haha are we all going to apply for Davidson? I was thinking about submitting something in science, not writing though :]

That’s intense aigiqinf.

The summer’s pretty chill actually, just a post AP level Physics class and maybe some post AP level Math classes, arml, 3 sat II’s, prepping for usapho, political science research, environmental science research, congressional internship, possibly founding a non profit, and possibly teaching orphans in rural asia again considering how rewarding of an experience it was for me.

I’m submitting a writing portfolio :D. How did you guys find out about Davidson? I find out from CC, lol. The biggest challenge for me will probably be finding a professional in my field and a mentor. :[

aigiqinf: Wow, that’s insane. Do you go to a private school or something? I’ve never heard of anyone having to do that.

@DataBox: what sort of environmental science research do you do? Freshman year I worked in physics research, this year carbon sequestration/alternative energy sources.

No aigiqinf is just hungry for knowledge and has taken like 50 classes already (not really, but close enough =D)

@tsubomi: I’ve been looking into optimization models for supply chains in logistics.

(Oh, and I may do davidson as well if my schedule allows for it)
