if i were guaranteed a good job, i’d still double major in neuro and English, with a pre-law concentration, but i think i’d also throw in fashion design, screenwriting, espanol, and theater. (: but i don’t think that’s possible…

I don’t know if this is directly related to this thread but I need advice.

Okay well basically at my school, you’re only allowed to take AP U.S. Government & Politics your sophomore year. I thought it was a super easy class, I’m really interested in government and politics, and I did well on the practice exams. After I took the actual AP exam, I thought it was some kind of joke.

I got my score back and it was a 3!! I’m SO disappointed, because everyone else I know got either a 4 or 5. I feel miserable, and like my chances at top colleges are completely gone. I really don’t mind re-taking the class in college, but I still feel like this score would make colleges look at me as a poor applicant.

I’m taking 4 APs next year so I could get 4’s and 5’s on those.
Can anyone make me feel better? I feel crappy. How much can a poor AP score really hurt your admissions chances at top colleges (incl. Ivy Leagues)?

One 3 is not going to make that big a difference - especially since it was in your sophomore year. It’s still considered “qualified.” But if you feel that bad about it, you can always cancel it. Personally, I don’t think that’s necessary, especially because amongst 4’s and 5’s (assuming you get those next year), it’ll look fine.

Your chances at top colleges are not gone. Don’t be silly.

I’m actually really excited about this year because this summer has really opened my eyes to the fun of doing what you love for the heck of it. I’ve gained alot of valuable insight that many of my friends do not have, so the year will be different than anyone I’ve ever had.

I think we got out June 12th, or somewhere around that day lol, I forget.
That’s surprising that your school doesn’t offer any, but maybe you have the IB program instead.

I just got my schedule and it looks good. I hate it when I have to give up classes because of scheduling problems but luckily, it worked out fine this time.

We get out around June 9, but August 25th is when school starts for me, which means I should probably start doing my summer assignment for AP English Lang. sigh

@Wartsandall - I have to read The Scarlett Letter and do a report on every chapter. I would have done it by now but the book is so boring (at least the 1st chapter).

I have to do 12 chapters of Latin work (not taking next year due to scheduling conflicts, so I’m taking it over the summer), 5 chapters of AP Chem, and read The Grapes of Wrath and the Time Traveller’s Wife
