Yeah, I took the PSAT sophomore year and got a 210. This May, I took the real SAT shortly after recovering from a 40+ Celsius fever and got a 2120. Not terrible, considering I still had a terrible cough while taking the test. I’m hoping for better luck this year though!

Meh, I took it freshman year and got like a 198. I took it sophomore year and got like a 207. I was so f@#& ***ed since I got 80 in math and like 75 in reading but totally bombed the writing section (which was the only section I had perused through in a PSAT prep book).

Hopefully I don’t make a similar mistake, since in the middle of my sophomore year I took the SAT (cold/without prep) and got a 2200.

^ Congrats James! That’s a pretty solid score. Are you planning to retake at all?

^^Nice:) .

we can start signing up monday, its like 20$ and on Oct 17th (i think, idk yet) but im nervous, i want to do good. im shooting for somewhere around 200+, but ill prob end up getting somewhere around 180

Wow, I have to pay $35:/ Gah, I just got an 8 out of 20 on one of the sections. Luckily, it was my first try without studying or anything at 10 pm, but still, it’s alarming:/

Of course I’m going to retake! If it’s a cold score, hopefully I can do better with some prep (:

Assuming that prepping doesn’t make me dumber, like it did when I prepped for PSAT writing and got a 50 something, and when I didn’t prep I got like a 70 something ):

Am Lit Honors
APUSH
AP Chem
Precalculus Honors
Chinese 3
A’cappella choir
T-aiding for math

But my ECs are killing me
Class president (2011 ftw), ASB, National Honor Society officer, Photography officer, tutor for a tutoring session after school, Speech and Debate, UN Club (traveling to Africa in winter), Competitive Math, and two more clubs

As for SATs & PSAT, ahhh it’s in less than a week! I’m aiming for 2400 but will be content with 2200+
So far, my unweighted is 4.00 but my grades suck right now hoping to raise them up soon.

Colleges: Harvard, Stanford, Berkeley & UCLA, Columbia

^^I’m the complete opposite. If I don’t study at all, I fail miserably.(As indicated by my 8/20:/) However, if I do study, I usually do pretty well:) I wouldn’t think your score would go down by studying, but if it does, a 2200 is still pretty good:)

^Wow, hopefully you get that 2400!:)

'11 Pride (:

Kind of diverging from my original plan…

Aimed to take 13~14 ap’s, but I’m stuck at hopefully 10. :/

Currently in…
AP Physics B
AP Calculus AB
AP US History
AP English Language
Mandarin 3
Orchestra 2.

I was hoping to take AP Psychology and World history as a freshman, followed by AP Euro and Ap Calc AB sophomore year… :/

Xc got in the way so I couldn’t concentrate on my plan… D:

I’m not looking at any colleges for now, I’m superstitious about looking into a college too much. I’m also skeptical about wearing college gear.

Also, I’m kind of going through some unpleasant events in my life…
- Found out things I never needed to know about my family
- Parents disputing often
- Having no inheritance from any of my grandparents…

^ Wow, JLee92, your schedule’s nearly identical to mine. Just replace Chinese with Spanish and Orchestra with AP Econ…

As for the ‘unpleasant events’, make sure you get your counselor to mention them in his/her recommendation, particularly if they’re serious enough to hurt your grades.

^Wow, you are taking 5 APs? Awesome:)

Wow. All of you guys are taking a lot of APs. I feel like such a slacker now.

I’m taking Spanish 3, AP Chemistry, Honors English 11, Honors Pre-Calc, and AP US History. I’m doing pretty well so far, three A’s and two B+'s.

As for the PSAT, I’m hoping for 180 or higher. I got a 166 last time.

And colleges, I’m not really into going super far from home (Indiana). I’m looking into Central Michigan, Purdue, Northwestern, Iowa State, and Augustana.

I’ve got 4 APs this year. Not bad.

Colleges - UofM, MSU, Wayne State, Northwestern, and maybe some low ivies like Brown.

Nice:) I’m still searching for colleges I’d like to go to. As of right now, I’m thinking I will apply to UCs, but I also would like to apply to private institutes.

I took a practice PSAT today.

I got a 214 ):

There’s this one really weird question though… can someone explain it to me?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-act-tests-test-preparation/788921-psat-math-question-■■■■■■■■-explanation-please.html

Ok, math isn’t my best subject, so you might want to look at other people’s responses. However, isn’t it just a matter of logic? Maybe I’m looking at it too simplistically, but if x=4, and that means y>3, then wouldn’t it make sense to say that if y<3, then x isn’t equal to 4 because x is only equal to four when y>3? Yes, sorry for the bad explanation. I tried:/

lol Every time I look at my schedule I think it looks mediocre at best…everyone else thinks I’m out of my mind…I have CC syndrome :(

^Same:/ Just do the best that YOU can do though, and don’t worry. That’s how I force myself to look at it.

^ James, I just posted a reply on your thread… hope it makes sense. I was super careful not to make any mistakes on that practice PSAT, and got an 80 on math. (Woot!) Now let’s see how I do on the CR and W sections…
