Omgosh! Good luck!:)

I think it’s time to bump the '11 thread. What’s new juniors? :)

Is anyone applying to any summer organizations?

I’m applying to NC’s Governor’s School, and TASP and a math and science camp. Hopefully, I’ll be selected to attend one of those programs. But I’m really excited for TASP.

^^ Does anyone know if there is a thread anywhere with a summer programs with lots of financial aid offered or any that are free?

^You should look in the summer program forum. There are an array of opportunities mentioned there that may even offer financial aid.

I’m probably doing a camp at Berklee Music again. Not academic, but really fun I’ve also been looking into programs at NYU, since I need to visit the campus to see if I like it. Their pre-college program looks pretty cool, but I’m not sure I can say no to Berklee.

Summer needs to be longer :(

I’m gonna apply to a nanotechnological program at Cornell this summer. Only 10 got accepted last summer out of 1000 or so, so I doubt I’ll get in, but you never know!

^Hahaha you too? I’m doing that as well!

Good luck :)

Do you know how to apply? I coudln’t find the application for it online

@Harmabee: What program are you applying for at Governor’s School? I was going to apply, but it does not sound like fun. What’s TASP?

^It’s a writing program. It’s pretty difficult to get into though:/
EDIT: Look on this website for more information:

tellurideassociation.org/programs/…/taspgeneralinfo.html

I’m going to try to do this program that not too many people know about.
I don’t think it’s as difficult to get into, but hey, you have to apply and do an interview and it’s free:) That counts for something! lol

^OH, thanks a million Wartsandall!
:)

which program are you doing?

No problem:) It’s this program where for two weeks you meet with people from Japan and engage in activities with them. I can’t speak Japanese(lol) but it should be fun if I get in:>

“engage in activities with them”
I’d like to do some of that…

I’m applying to the social sciences program. Everyone i’ve talked to about Governor’s School said its really fun, and it was one of their best summers.

TASP is very hard to get into.

I think you switched us up lol, but thanks:)

I really, really, want to sign up for Organic Chemistry next year…but I’m afraid too. I have to talk to my counselor tomorrow about senior courses…I guess I’ll make my decision after spring semester.

^^^O, I wasn’t referring to TASP in that statement. I’m not applying to that program. I’m applying to a different program.
^You should:)

@Harambee:

Well, I have heard “growing as a person” and “fun” but honestly I am not convinced. I went to Brown camps, and those were AWESOME. Good luck in applying, I’ll apply as well (Natural Science), but I do think it is a bit odd. Like talkign about emotions in a class? That is weird to me, I want to learn about stuff I signed up for. My life would be significantly different without my Browne experience, and Governor’s School seems like a very much watered-down version of it.

Thanks for the info Wartsandall :)

No problem:) You should go to another Brown camp then:>
Is anyone else applying anywhere?

LOL Nope I’m planning on taking 3 economics courses this summer. =)
