Lol, no, sorry haha, I understand that you want to protect your privacy:) Hopefully you get everything resolved!

A lot of people called me back, including the second in charge of legal counsel for the governor. I had a few set backs…but hopefully I’ll get somewhere with this.

That’s good to hear! Hopefully everything is resolved.

anyone gone on visits lately? i looked at middlebury and williams recently

I’m probably gonna go during spring break

Same. Unfortunately all the schools I’m looking at are all over the place so unless I go on like five different flights I have to narrow it down a bit :(

I’ve looked at a small state school, Middlebury, Smith, Mount Holyoke and Williams so far. More to come in the winter and spring! Where are other people looking?

mj rothlan: What did you think of Middlebury and Williams? Do you have a preference as of now?

My dream school bases their decision basically on your GPA. I went to a tough private school and am pulling in a 3.5 - ****.

Btw, thinking of:

Major - Computer Engineering or Computer Science

Georgia Tech - the dream school
U of Binghamton
Carnegie Mellon
U of Pitt
Bucknell
Lehigh
Lafayette

However there’s more, and I’ll slim some off, this is just a list I’ve made on my own.

You will get into Georgia Tech. +/- .000000001% uncertainty :)

I’ve looked at Duke and Carolina (guess what state I’m from?). I felt like Duke had kids like myself, but Carolina had such a neat range of people… I wonder if I’ll ever have to make the decision between the two environments.

^Are you from South Dakota?

Intelligent question…

“Location: mid-atlantic”

Are you from NC?
I know what you mean. From what I can tell, Duke is a smaller more close-knit place and Carolina has a larger, almost more vibrant atmosphere. Also, Chapel Hill is a great college town compared to Durham. It’s a tough choice, though.

Way to answer the rhetorical question. And are you being serious about the GT thing? From what I hear, those are kids like me - They love to cheer on their Yellow Jackets at football games but also laugh at Calculus jokes.

^ GT is pretty much the epitome of the play hard, study hard mentality. Not that many are able to both (few do).

It’s not that I need to play hard, just I have school spirit…I’ll play some intramurals and go to football and basketball games, but not really “play/party hard”. I’m pretty casual in the party aspect.

i didn’t get an official tour of middlebury (they don’t do tours nov/dec) but i liked it a lot. williams i did get a tour.

i liked the overall atmosphere of midd a little bit more. their library was awesome too. loved the campus and the mountains in the background. if psat scores are predictive i’ll be very competitive for getting in, too.

williams was good too. opportunity after opportunity… tutorials, study abroad, no loans, research… i still liked midd’s feel a little more but williams has great stuff too.

only problem is getting into the two! i’ll probably apply to them both. still getting a feel for whether i want a lac or bigger uni.

i’m also considering some 7/8 year bs/md programs too. so still not too sure haha but we’ll see

^^ Cool. I liked the atmosphere at Middlebury more too, but I doubt I have a real chance at either. :/

Aw. might as well try, who knows…
and i fear(ed) the PSAT math section too haha

Anyone else get there PSAT scores recently? We got ours today at school (big surprise!). How are people feeling?
