Official US November SAT Discussion II (Test with Negative Campaigns)

Of course… prized and rare was the easiest one in the entire test… even eaiser than “2x+1=sth. what’s 4x+2…”

key word in the answer choice is “potentially.”

…maybe i’m wrong… I thought transparent could mean something like u can’t see anything through it…

my take on transparent was like… easily comprehended… like the motives for the positive campaigns were transparent because they could see that positive campaigns were more deceptive than the negative ones

Is was misleading in the way the passage described the romantic, orchestrated family pictures, etc. of positive campaigns.

Does anyone agree with me on peregrination? Looking at the definition, exploration is similar and fits pretty well. Humorous vs sincere is hard. There was humor but the purpose of the specific sentence wasn’t meant to be funny. If I asked you the question, I would most likely be sincere about the topic of safety. Not sure though

I got misleading as well.

I seriously don’t think it is atavism, although I chose it lol

atavism at·a·vism (āt’ə-vĭz’əm) n. The appearance of characteristics that are presumed to have been present in some remote ancestor; reversion to an earlier biological type.

do not think it is pluralism either.

pluralism (ˈplʊərəˌlɪzəm) [Click for IPA pronunciation guide]
—n
2. sociol a theory of society as several autonomous but interdependent groups which either share power or continuously compete for power
3. the existence in a society of groups having distinctive ethnic origin, cultural forms, religions, etc
Cultural Dictionary
pluralism definition

A conviction that various religious, ethnic, racial, and political groups should be allowed to thrive in a single society. In metaphysics, pluralism can also mean an alternative to dualism and monism. A pluralist asserts that there are more than two kinds of principles, whereas the dualist maintains there are only two and a monist only one.

fanaticism

fanatic outlook or behavior especially as exhibited by excessive enthusiasm, unreasoning zeal, or wild and extravagant notions on some subject

I think it’s fanaticism now…lol.

Then probably I’m wrong… my mind was thinking transparent meaning blank and can’t provide enought information.

For the friend of the girl who was getting married when she said what is you’re mother gonna do whats the right answer

I had the same question. And I wrote down the numbers from 1 to about… 56?? you needed to count the numbers by single digit… so if you have 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and the question asks you what is the 6th digit, your answer would be 3.

&& for peregrination, I don’t think tectonic plates can explore.

■■■ it’s between agitated and jocular.

And I remembered a math one. T had to be even for 2x+t divided by 2

And for peregination, the context wasn’t about the plates moving literally. I think it meant it was a movement to tell others about how the plates worked. I could be wrong , I tried to find the passage but I couldn’t

it’s agitated. she was definitely not jubilant because she was worried

oh yeah 2r + t / 2 t has to be even
eliza or w/e was agitated

And what was the Greek word one? The question was like why nuance where appropriate or something… I don’t think it’s reference to Greek words… was it relating to architecture or sth? I didn’t have enough time on that one so I kinda guessed…

I kinda remember another math one, it was like:
If x=3 then y=6
What is y when x=2?
Am I over thinking this or is it just 4? I might be misremembering the question…

Also another math one had a graph of bus incoming and going passengers, the answer was all the incoming minus the ones that left. I think it was 26 or close to that number.

@ summertime
are you guys talking about the 71st digit one? I got 0. someone confirm me?

@ iwantto

it wasn’t greek. i forgot what the answer choices were

For peregrinations its definitely movement

On math, what was the question that someone got “4.8” for?

I put jubilant because an image of a “twittering” “excited” girl that babbled for hours was conveyed. It can definitely be agitated but I feel like its jubilant. In the passage, when she asks about what we parents think, “what” is italicized. I feel like that shifts the question to the girlfriend, meaning her friend could care less. This is all just conjecture though lol
