so you guys think -2 will be 740?

I think it’s more cause I remember reading that a collective noun can be considered one thing when you’re comparing.
I put to our satisfaction, too.

ameyazing for the panther or leopard question I put A (which I think I’m wrong) because you could rule out 2 of them which did not have than (b/c of idiom more…than) and one of the than’s had those, which is wrong.

The two left are A and E

A: more than that of (b/c it was comparing melanin to leopard)
D: I think you might be right b/c there were dashes for the melanin cause making a direct comparison between the two animals. Not sure though?

What was the first reading passage? do you guys remember? wasn’t there a short passage about caves and the questions were like: what would help give evidence for the persons claims or something…

Yeah its more the answer was C i think, the other more than clause which was D or E contained a gerund and awkward wording.

Check out my writing thread to concur answers

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/1237922-nov-test-b-writing-thread.html

Let’s break the panther one down:

“Black panthers produce more melanin -a biological pigment that is in hair and blah blah - _____ spotted panthers.”

In this case, it would have to be “than do”. Compared to is awkward wording, I think.

Ameyazing more…than idiom, so compared to is automatically ruled out.

Than do is the correct answer because than that of will not work because is comparing panthers to another creature.

So yes, you are right.

Can you guys go on the writing thread and concur with any answers, I got three NE, number 29., the first page of sentence ID’s dealing with the awards or some educational thing, and on the second page of sentence ID’s

oh the question for the caves was “what would support his thesis?”

if paleolithic tools were not found in deep caves

@panmit2: I definitely got E for #29, about the art exhibit. I believe also got another E somewhere in the 20’s.

@smoochumkisses: For the Paleolithic tools one, I said that was to support a previous claim. The claim was that not even 1% of “cavemen” used the caves.

that’s what I picked

support a previous claim is what is picked also.

do you guys agree with the fixing passage answers:

Combining sentence: C or D (most likely D) saying that artists gave paintbrush, color, paint, apes…

Replacing it: Whether IT thought was debatable.

I said to replace it with It—>Artists thinking it was art.

Inserting the sentence after sentence 1,

I said to start the sentence with Actually,…

I put A, the one talking about whether or not Apes could actually paint…

Not sure if they’ve alrready been posted, but I have all my answers to the Math section of the B exam. So far, they all appear to be correct, but I was working on only three hours of sleep and kinda sick, so I can not guarantee they are all correct. Anyway, enjoy!!!

I do remember inserting after sentence 1. Also, #35 should have been “whether or not apes can truly make art, some people clearly put a very high monetary value on it”. I also think #34 (this might not be the same question), should be “however, some people…” I don’t exactly remember this part though, so don’t quote me.

for the panther one…

because u’re comparing the normal ones directly with the spotted one, you don’t use “than that of”

4.8 or 24/5 <- what was this question?

Pt > 0 is wrong. T must be even. Nice compilation though!

Panther question I believe is “than do jaguars” or whatever the other animal was. The comparison was between how much of something the animals’ something produced. So it should have been "The panthers’ somethings produce more of something than do jaguars. Correct?

I thought pt > x because the quadratic graph had a positive y-int and was curving upwards indicating positive p.
so if y = px^2 + kx + t
At least I think that was the question…

I do not remember all the math questions but many of the answers look very familiar. Could someone add some details about the answer to each answer?

pt>0 is most certainly correct. The t was the y-int, which was greater than 0 and the p had to be positive because if it were negative the graph was face down. Thus, two positives multiplied together > 0.

no PT>0 is RIGHT for sure!!!
