haha i thought i would be the only one. but man, i hope gpa is the main main factor even if the essay is not that great…

Haha, you’re good man. Okay, here’s my question though. I have taken the English class required, but not the math one. I have my major set as business admin in the CommonApp. My GPA is pretty good (3.82).

Let’s say I didn’t get that requirement done…could they accept me as an undeclared major, then I complete that course, and apply to Marshall?

I’m busting my ass right now to try to sign up for the equivalent of Math 118/Math 125 at my school now, but I’m asking the above in case the worst happens (I don’t get into the class).

hmmm, im not really sure about the last part. but i do know that they would accept you as undeclared.

is it too late for you to sign up for the math class at your college?

I’m on the wait list. It’s actually not at my primary college. My primary college is on a quarter system and started 3 weeks ago. The class is at another local community college that is on a semester system. I just got onto the waitlist (#3). So we’ll see. I’m optimistic.

Good to know that I could be accepted as undeclared. I’ll have to contact USC and ask if they allow internal transfers to Marshall.

ooh nice, hopefully you get that math class do you attend a four year university or something?
and btw, are you gonna be a sophomore or junior transfer?

I’m in a community college in California I’m currently a sophomore, so I’d be a junior transfer.

How about you?

PS. If anyone can answer my question above, please post here or PM me. I’d appreciate it.

im a sophomore transfer. haha im already nervous for admission decisions!
did you submit your commonapp already?

Haha don’t be nervous Nope. It’s all done, but I’m just having a friend look over my two essays. Hbu?

Hey everyone, I was just curious if anyone knew how competitive, compared to the other schools, Viterbi School of Engineering is? I’m a freshman at a CC this year and I’m looking into majoring in civil engineering. Any help or advice would be great! Thanks!

Hi transfer applicants!

It is me again, here to remind you that the transfer deadline for Financial aid is the SAME as the freshman deadline: February 2nd, 2012.

USC guarantees to meet 100% of USC-calculated need for financial aid applicants who submit their CSS/Profile and FAFSA by the published deadline:
FEBRUARY 2ND, 2012
Applicants who miss the deadline will be considered for reduced financial aid.

If you haven’t completed your taxes, use estimates and update the FAFSA when the taxes are complete. Try to get taxes done as soon as possible this year - USC will not present financial aid packages until the FAFSA filing status changes to “already filed” and signed parent and student tax return copies have been submitted.

USC Financial Aid website: [USC Financial Aid - Applying & Receiving Financial Aid - Undergraduate - New Students](http://www.usc.edu/admission/fa/applying_receiving/undergraduates1/newstudents.html)

Any stats for international transfer? I hardly find the information.
What if the TOEFL is not good enough, any chance to be admitted with extra English program?

Thank you so much! :)

@tonynguyen92 I got 82 the first time I took the TOEFL then scored a 101 the next time I took it. Don’t worry about it, it says that if you received lower than a 100, they will just need to put you through more rigorous courses in English good luck

If i am transferring from a cc, do I need to send my transcripts and all my test scores by feb 2nd or just my application? :[

I’m wondering the same thing as @sadfool.

I’m an international student wanting to transfer. I tried to get my transcripts to be faxed to USC, but the school said that it wasn’t working. I know sending mail from a different country (and continent for that matter) can take a while. So would they consider when it arrives or the postmark date?

So just to make sure, it is OKAY if our transcript is postmarked by Feb 1st? right?

@sadfool & ScGal

Yes. Needs to be postmarked by Feb 1.

SadFool - don’t get your application deadline of Feb ONE mixed up with the financial aid deadline of Feb TWO. Play it safe and get everything in by the first.

I have been lurking this thread forever and I’m finally posting because I desperately need to clear some things up.
A few posts state that USC doesn’t require any additional forms other than the application and supplement, that the instructor evaluation is optional.
However, on the Common App School Forms section, it lists: College Official’s Report College Official (Dean, Advisor) College Official Report, Instructor Evaluation, School Report, and Mid-Term Report.
So, none of these are actually required? If they are, what is the difference between the College Official Report and the School Report?? Form to form, they look very similar and what’s the difference between an adviser and counselor anyway!

@caretostayfortea

USC does not require those forms.

So anyone else on here English? Is everyone practically Marshall? Haha
