I got the ECD box today!!! Admit for spring!!! Yippee!!! Anyone else???

I got accepted but i still can’t log in to oasis. Any suggestions?

@FHK993 When you first sign in, I think your password’s your birthday and then I think you change it to whatever you want it to be. I can’t really remember since I did it a couple months ago.

congrats fellow spring admits shelby & FHK!

oh god I just pooped my pants

April 1st

can’t wait for tommorow, rejection or acceptance

although since its the very last day, it seems I’m a very borderline applicant and rejection would be more likely but no need to fret over it now it’ll be over soon.

@strengthftw

what school/major are you?

Does anyone know how we can check what major we got in for???

strenthftw- Dont count yourself out! Anything can happen! Remember that they are not following the same pattern as last year where they would send a wave of acceptances and then rejections. It is completely random! I will tell you that the next 20 hours are going to go by extremely sllooooowwww.

FHK993- If your STARS interactive audit report is not updated you will find out when you get your acceptance package.

@jmin im waiting for viterbi but I applied for Comp Sci/Business admin

@ngarcia thanks, probably not gonna sleep tonight, hopefully I’ll be back with some good news :-s

@FHK, if you check your OASIS and your STARS audit report you might be able to see your major?

@Ngarcia3, I actually live near school in campus housing. If I were to drive from NB to school it’d take anywhere from 50-90 minutes depending on traffic and which freeway I take.

Also, there are unmotivated students even at USC, so don’t think group projects are like a breeze (I’ve had bad experiences, can you tell? hah). Anyway, you usually get to choose your own partners for group assignments, I’ve only had one class so far where the group is assigned. But just know that at the end, almost all group projects require peer evaluations, and sometimes those get factored into your final grade, so if you get the real competitive people they may give you a lower score so they can pick the better score for themselves.

@angieyeh, I love lacrosse! I would love to join a team if i was…bigger. My brother played lacrosse in high school and college, so I’ve always wanted to try it. I totally want to join a club sport this year, need to get in shape, lol.

I actually just emailed the FA people to see about the 6th semester issue and see if I can get more money if I’m doing a double major. I’ll let you know what they say. Ultimately, I think I may have to stop on campus anyway since I have to talk to my advisor to move classes around I think for fall, bah!

Have you signed up for Orientation yet?

@jmin do you still have june 1st?

@strengthftw

Yeah. Unfortunately I still have the June 1st status. I don’t know whether I should be relieved or nervous about it :/

I still have June 1st status as well… I know people who got in last friday :(

darn got an email from when I asked when my decision was coming, they said they’ll mail it soon and I should get one at the end of the week, considering today is monday its likely a rejection

@strength

When I called on Friday after my April 1st status, they told me the same thing. And the next business day, I got the ECD don’t psyche yourself out :)

@shelby oh thats nice to hear, there’s a chance its just a “standard response”

I’ll get the decision shortly :-/

@CrownoftheSea oh crap lacrosse players are tall? well i guess that’s out of the picture for me! hahaha soo sad to be short. Alright cool I hope it works out! Also do you have any advice about housing? I wanna live close by so I don’t have to wake up too early and if I have a big break I can go home lol No… I haven’t signed up for orientation yet. Is orientation mandatory or just highly highly recommended? I’m also still waiting for financial aid. My minds already set on USC, but financial aid would determine if I’m really going!

@angieyeh, don’t worry financial aid should arrive in like a week or so after you get accepted. Their package is usually pretty good, they want people to attend so hopefully you get an awesome package.

As for housing, it really depends what your budget is. A lot of people stay in Gateway or Tuscany, but I’ve heard bad things about both places. I actually got lucky and was able to get into campus housing last year and doing the same thing here. If you want to stay close maybe look into the Shrine apartments, they’re right across from Gateway. There are some good apartments, just depends on your budget. If you give me an idea I can google the places I have in mind to see if it fits your criteria.

As for orientation, it’s not mandatory but recommended. The ONLY advantage is you get actual advisors to help you with your classes, otherwise you’ll have to select your classes for yourself, which can be a pain if they’re all full! (If you don’t go, they’ll simply mail you all the stuff you would’ve gotten at orientation)

Let me know if you got other questions!

Anyone signing up for the orientation on the 27th? or August 17th? and how did you guys get access to oasis or whatever

When should I expect a financial aid email? I got accepted on Friday and paid the commitment fee today.

Also, good luck to everyone expecting decisions today!
