I’ve been checking my USConnect and it’s been worrying me a bit. I sent my transcripts and requested my high school to send my transcript before Feb. 1 but on the site it says that I am still missing them. I’m definitely going to call USC and my high school tomorrow. My financial aid part seems to be lacking, too. I submitted the CSS profile and FAFSA, but it’s saying that I’m missing tax returns for 2011, yet I completed that as well as the 2012-2013 profile with the signatures…what is going on? Stressing me out…ugh.

Btw, did anyone else apply to Annenberg for Communication? Just wondering.

^^ USConnect usually lags a bit. So the office might’ve received your items already, give it a few days or just call/email your admissions counselor to double check

Can anybody else NOT log into USConnect? I made an account in the summer, but haven’t been able to log in for the past few weeks.

When is everyone planning to submit their apps? Or, when did you submit if you already did so?
I think I’m going to wait until tomorrow and submit 24 hours before the actual deadline.

@ilikebananas I sent them off last week. Even though I don’t think they really look at when you submit. My mom said that you don’t want to be the last one to submit. I would submit when you are done.
@encgdr I read on a different forum that some one had that same problem. I think they played around with the email they gave on their app and the old email.

Any idea when we will hear from USC?

Hey everyone, how long was everyone’s common app essay? Not the supplemental one.

Submitted my supplement and app this morning. Finally, I can relax for a bit. Best of luck to all.

@jrnavid

Mine was around 460 words.

Hey guys. I wrote my common app specifically catered towards USC. Are you not supposed to write about a specific college on the common app essay? I wrote pretty good essays in both my common app and supplement essay and they both covered different aspects and didn’t overlap each other. Is this okay? Or am I screwed??? (I only applied to USC on Common App)

Thanks!!!

@msrv99

You should be fine. General rule of thumb is stay general if there is a supplement question asking Why X but in your case you only applied to USC so it should not be a problem.

You can actually create 10 versions of the CA so if you really wanted to cater the essay to each school you could. Just a lot of work and at some point you’ll start to see diminishing returns on your time.

@MitchaPalooza

Oh. That’s such a relief. When my friend told me that I had done it wrong I literally had a heart attack. Thanks for the clarifications!

Hi everyone. I go to a community college and am applying to USC, but on the application they want you to list the credits with the courses you are going to take. My college does everything in units. Is there any difference between units and credits?

@aisl09, my school is the same… “units” instead of “credits.” I didn’t think it mattered.

What do we put for “Current Year Courses” if we are unsure what we are taking Spring quarter?

Kind of freaking out now… anyone have a short supplemental essay? My personal statement was pretty long and catered toward USC, so I only used the supplemental essay to explain my major choice (it’s under 300 words). I pretty much treated the supplemental essay as an extra short answer thing…

@futuretrojansc: Well, I asked my counsellor to explain to the that the fax wasn’t working, and she said she would email them, but mail them as well, so hopefully they will be accepted one way or the other. Just to be safe

Does anybody know if USC wants any of the school forms from the common app? I am a transfer who will be a sophomore next year!

Not required.

Ok im freaking out! My Short answer is completely cut off on the PDF version of the app. It is not showing up anywhere else. What do I do?!
