Official USC 2012 Transfer Thread

what’s usc connect and should i make an account?

Does USC have an institutional fee waiver? I remember they had something last year w/o the common app.

You can check your application status at USC connect

Thank you! I did get higher then that. So that is great! :] 31 transferable units!

Hey guys, I just submitted my app and it stated that I submitted it on 2/2/2012. Obviously, that is not pacific time. Does anyone know if USC will be taking that into consideration? Or if they will just see the feb 2nd date and assume I submitted it a day late? Thanks and good luck!

@gionrio refer to post #976 at the top of this page

Is anyone worried about their low gpa or excessive w’s? I screwed up freshman year but got all a’s in my major requirements which is good!

@ScGal12: I’m just worried period. LOL, I don’t have nearly enough credits and I don’t think my essay was that good. On top of that, POOOR high school records! -_-. Hopefully, they weigh my ECs a bit more, since I do do a lot.

Was there anyone else who weren’t given the option to select that they intend to apply for merit based scholarships, live on campus, be a full-time student, etc in the “Future Plans” section? Before I submitted my application the other night I saw that I was not given those options, and after I submitted and print reviewed it, I did not pay see it too much as a big deal. But now that I’m reviewing my submitted app on common app, I’m realizing that I was not even given those options to select yes or no.

Did anyone else realize that. If not, go check and review your submitted app and let me know please.

Also if you requested a fee waiver, you should go to your financial aid office at your school and request a letter of like financial hardship or something. When I called USC last week and asked about the fee waiver, they advised me to do so and contact the financial aid department at my school and do so. So get that in if you did. I’m not sure if they automatically grant your fee waiver request, but just do it in case.

soooo glade that is over with! the only thing that i’m worried about is for my personal statement i pressed view document and it have all question marks and boxes and all my other essays were fine. so i tried to put it on my additional requirements material and did the same thing. so i just emailed admissions to see if its just a glitch on my end or if i need to email my essay.

@BlackRose21
That happened to me too. When I print previewed my document it came up with boxes and question marks. I found out that the problem was just the font that I used. I guess common app didn’t support it, so I changed it to Times New Roman and it was fine.

I think if you’ve already submitted, you could just email explaining what happened, and see if you can email your essays

If I submitted my payment before the deadline is right after the deadline is my application and supplement considered late? i have emails from the Common App saying that I have successfully submitted by application and supplement to USC.

@transferrrrr

I noticed that too, I wasn’t given those options either. Perhaps those are intended for first year applicants?

@mike011x

Yeah, after I thought about it, I do think that is possibly only for first year applicants. I may call on Monday and ask about that.

And what do you mean by your first question? I’m pretty sure if you submitted the app and everything by 11:59pm on 2/1 you should be all good. Especially if you received a confirmation email stating so.

How do you guys place your USC ID on your transcripts?

@MechanicalEngine

Yeah, I wrote my USC ID on the outside of each envelope. If you didn’t write it isn’t not a big deal, it just makes it easier for them to attach to your application.
