Official USC 2012 Transfer Thread

If I applied to the annenberg school would I need to send my LOR and transcripts there in addition to the regulars USC undergrad admissions address?

@BlackRose 21 & SWNDEE

Thanks guys. Hahaha. Yeah, my arrow is green, but I just wanted to check… Just in case. I have emailed them, but they take a few days to reply… :frowning: Gosh I wish calling was that easy for me. But I definitely will by the end of the week if I don’t get an answer. This whole application is almost eating alive!

Did y’all receive the email confirming your application to your respective schools? I received one a day or two after i submitted my common app. They say that the application is presently under consideration. Does this mean that my application is complete? As in, they got my transcripts and the required materials?

What do you guys think is the transfer gpa range for Marshall?

@comp100,

I think I heard somewhere here that transfer gpa for Marshall is 3.7-3.9. I’m not certain, though. But I’ve seen people’s post on here getting in with a 3.5/3.6 occasionally.

^Marshall is just super competitive, period. To realistically have a shot, IMO, you’d want to be in the 3.7-3.9 range like DJpsu said as well as awesome recs and completed pre-reqs. However, this is based on what I have seen on here. :)

this USC 2011 transfer thread should give you guys a better idea of the type of people that got accepted last year. But I always see new things that go against the admission odds.

Does anyone know the average GPA for Viterbi?

does anyone know if i can still turn in high school/college transcripts? i plan on going to USC and handing it in myself… and where would I go for that?

How come some applicants are receiving emails about their application from USC? The only one I received was from USC financial aid asking for some documents?

I have about a 3.6 and I applied to Marshall. Hopefully I am one of the odd exceptions that make it in :(

I only got a payment confirmation from common app and a package in the mail stating that USC has received my information. Does USC generally send emails too? Because they haven’t sent me anything

Marshall Kids: Last year there was someone who got in with a 3.4. Just another example that it’s not the numbers, it’s the person.

I PERSONALLY know someone who got into Marshall with a 3.0 and another with a 3.4 GPA. It’s really not just about the numbers.

Haha I personally know someone that got in with a 2.7 and someone got into Marshall with a 3.0 (He was on the Trojan Transfer Plan)

It’s all luck personally.

^ I’m pretty those were all exceptions, otherwise Marshall’s average GPA would be a lot lower.

It still doesn’t mean that people shouldn’t aim to get the best damn grades possible.

so me with a 3.12 = very low chance i am safe to assume?
except maybe because i have only finished 17 credits?

True gousc, I always aim to get an A, but finals suck sometimes. Finals always drop or bring me uP!

markyang, u wanna transfer to marshall?

no haha.
Im a bio major. Dornsife for me!
but still…

I’m a English major :slight_smile: What college are you transferring from? DO u have any W’s or bad grades? like C- or lower?
