hahha wow more power to the adcoms! youre right…i cant wait to say “fight on!” lol

Would it help a lot to send letters of recs? I have 3 people who would write pretty good rec letters for me. Is it too late? And do I need to send rec letters with any school forms or just mail the rec letters to USC directly?

LoR’s are not required depending on your major but I’d say it will help regardless. But… you’re probably going to have to get it in pretty soon! AFAIK, things should’ve been in by now or at least by the end of this month. And keep in mind it does take a week or two for them to “process” them and file them. So you should get-a-goingggg!

You could esnd them without any school forms, just make sure to write your USC ID down and all that jazz so they can file accordingly.

Unless you have a specific question, I wouldn’t contact your regional counselor. On the USC blog it states:
I emailed mine 3 weeks ago because I had a specific question but she never responded back.

admissionblog.usc.edu/2012/02/08/dosanddonts/

oh i did have specific questions about the common app and things regarding applications.

Really? where are you from? My regional counselor seemed to be very kind and helpful.

well i just received a letter from USC about application fee payment together with my CC’s financial aid doc which i sent to them 2 weeks ago. ( i applied for application fee waiver)
i totally have no idea what they want me to do. so i called them. and here is the answer
you have to obtain a letter which says you are currently receiving financial aid from your CC’s financial aid office or any doc which can prove you are currently receiving financial aid. but my question is. is that doc i print out from my CC’s financial aid portal useless? or they just want me to send it back to them?

just out of curiosity which majors require an interview prior to acceptance?

@Mitch,
did you ever get my PM by any chance?

How do you find out who your admissinos counselor is?

If I requested my transcript to be sent on 1/31, how long does it usually take to be processed? I checked my USC connect and it still hasn’t been received and I’m getting worried!!

it really depends. one of mine was posted within maybe a week and a half. my other one took almost 3 weeks. i wouldnt worry too much about it, but maybe upload an unofficial one on usconnect while you wait for your official one to get posted on there (just in case it got lost in the mail, etc)

I just looked at USC connect for the first time and it says they need a “secondary school report” and transcripts from two of the three community colleges i’ve attended.

i’ve sent my high school transcript and official transcripts from all three colleges before i turned in my application (so without a USC ID#).

Can I just ask USC to pick out my documents from their mailbox or whatever since I sent them without a USC ID? Or do i have to send them over again?

Would it be a good idea to upload PDFs of my unofficial transcripts meanwhile?

i would upload unofficial ones for the time being. worst case scenario: all your transcripts got lost in the mail. i had all my transcripts sent in without my usc id and they were able to figure it out. unless you have a super common first and last name lol.

I sent mine without my USC ID.

But then again, my name is extremely unique, lmao.

@poserbruin i have similar situation like u. i have sent my college and secondary school transcript together to USC. but in usconnect, it says “college transcript required”. how can them lose my college transcript but got my secondary school’s since they were in the same package. i just send an email to them to ask about this and my application fee wavier thing.

@ ucbecon999 I also used the fee waiver on my application. Do you know if we need to submit any forms or written note stating a financial hardship other than just checking the fee waiver box on the application?

@C00K1E, yea. you probably have to attach a document which can proof your financial hardship. such as a letter from your CC’s financial aid office. i printed something out from my CC’s FA portal, but it was returned. so, i think u just have to let ur CC’s FA office write something like “the student is currently receiving financial aid”. i will do it next week.

oh really i check off that I needed a fee waiver and i haven’t received anything stating otherwise that it didn’t go through. i remember that when i did the same thing for common app when i was applying to colleges in high school that i didn’t have to do anything extra. i thought they look at your FAFSA and or CSS profile determine from there. Or look at your EFC. I dunno I could be wrong but I should probably look into that…

My transcript from a CC for ONE art credit to graduate is still not received on the USConnect. I know I sent it. I paid for it. I got the receipt and confirmation about a month ago. I’m not even going to bother anymore lol. Just WHATEVER.
