I received the introduction letter as well. Nothing too specific the usual: we appreciate your interest in USC, etc, etc.

I think they are but still mostly focused on freshman applications. It’s also important to note recipients for Transfer Merit scholarship will be notified by April 1 therefore some transfer applications must be in review. How they consider which qualify for the scholarship? I’m not sure. Could be GPA cutoff in which afterwards they look at the applicant holistically. Just a guess.

hellooooooooooo. current transfer here at usc so if anybody has any questions that they want to ask let me know! i know somebody tried to pm about questions but my inbox was full so if that person could pm me again please do so. I transferred after 1 year and i came from a 4 year so if anybody is in a situation similar to mine, ask away. fyi im studying business admin here so if you have any questions about classes transferring over and such in addition to how hard the courses here are compared to other universities, feel free to ask. good luck everybody!

did anyone apply as a planning, policy and design major? or heard of anyone? ive been adamantly following this thread and i havent seen too many…

nope none at all. and i feel your pain lol. but who knows maybe less people are applying for our majors so we’ll have a better chance? wishful thinking

@gousc - 4.2 weighted, 3.65 unweighted. 1980 sat, 31 act. good extra curriculars. i wrote a much better essay for when i applied after my first year then the one i had written out of high school. might have been the difference maker in my opinion.

Hey I’m also attending University of Michigan right now and its also a 4 year institution. I got a 3.8 the first semester but it might drop a bit this semester. I was looking at last years stats and it looked like a lot of people from out of state 4 year institutions got either rejected or got a spring grade request. I was wondering if I had a higher chance of getting rejected since I meet that criteria. I also am applying to the business admin. Also, is it likely that I will get a spring grade request since I haven’t completed 30 credits yet (in progress)? And is getting a spring grade request a good chance that I will get in? Sorry for the long post. Thanks

@msrv - you can’t really rely on patterns from previous years in regards to out of state applicants being rejected in high numbers. If you get a spring grade request, it typically means that they’re still interested and that they are waiting to see if you have completed the pre requisites for the major you are applying for. it doesn’t guarantee whether or not you’re accepted, but if you keep up the 3.8 gpa (or 3.6 or above) and complete all the pre requisites as well, you’re going to have a very good chance of getting in (imo). I do believe that those who apply from a respectable 4 year university are given more leeway in terms of having lower gpas than those who are applying from community colleges due to the difficulty of courses. Just my opinion.

i think i’ve literally seen one PPD major besides i guess the two of us…i looked up the stats and it said only 16 out of the undergrads admitted last year were PPD majors. dont know what this means for us, but i hope its good!

lucky for you i meant i havent heard of anyone else applying as a PPD major lol (i’m another obscure major :P). ive literally scoured this thread and last years thread for anything without much luck. even though according to last years stats about 225 people applied for around 40 seats. scary stuff!
