People applying to Annenberg last year found out at the end of march/ early april?! I’m on the quarter system and my winter grades will not be sent out until late march/ early april!! :(

Anyone else here applying for annenberg? What are your stats?

Ahh so you feel my pain! Haha. I feel like everyone’s just sitting back and waiting now but we still have one more set of finals and then we have to turn in our transcript. I’m currently at UCSB. what about you? are you applying to annenberg?

I applied as a transfer to USD and Santa Clara…no responses, but two kids in my grades applied as first years and they both have below a 3.3 and got in…frustrating

also, i kind of like being on quarter system because if we did a little worse than expected first quarter, we have two quarters to bring up our grades, even if it is a bit more stressful

I’m a second year! I feel like that might be bad for me though since my high school grades were pretty strong! Do you know what the people applying to annenbergs stats are? Are you a first year? Whats your gpa? haha sorry for all of the questions!

@fratstar did the people from your schools that had lower than 3.3s get into sc?

ahhh what made you decide to transfer? all the people i know transferring to annenberg are first years…a girl in my hall here at UCI got a 4.0 first quarter and one of my friends has around a 3.6 i think. yeah im a first year…i got a 3.4 first quarter and im going into finals with solid As so if i keep that up i’ll have a 3.7

I just realized that I want to do Communication and Annenberg is the best for that, even though UCSB does have a good program. Damn they have such high gpas! That makes me so nervous. I only have a 3.4-3.5 depending on what I get this quarter. but I have a really strong upward trend so hopefully that helps.

yeah i heard UCSBs was really good! yeah they just have to keep it up since i know a lot of first year transfers need a SGR. well good luck!! all we can do is just focus on our grades and hope for the best

Thanks! I honestly just want this quarter to be over with so I can stop worrying about this so much. How are you going to send your transcripts? Is there a certain way that we can make them get there faster? lol

I’m at UCI so I’m on a quarter system as well! So I’m also nervous about finding out a bit later than everyone else since we have to sumbit winter and then spring ! I’m applying to Annenberg as a broadcast journalism major. I have a 3.9 gpa and should be getting another 3.9 for winter quarter. I am a freshman… I’ve interned for Ktla 5 news, NBC an CBS. Actually reported for NBC last year on the red carpet at one of their film festivals. I have pretty good extra curriculars about 350 hours of community service

You should not be nervous, im going to need a miracle to get in compared to your stats haha. I have around a 3.5, I have tons of community service (volunteer at a hospital and do community service through my sorority), Im involved in my schools communication association, I held an internship with a radio station where I got to work concerts at the santa barbara bowl and I got to interview bands. I think my GPA is a little low though oh and im just applying for regular communication

The average gpa for Annenberg was 3.7, I believe for last year, which means that people below that gpa got in, as well. Honestly, the wait sucks, but there’s not much we can do. If you worked hard on your app and submitted good essays, it’s the best we can do. Btw, I didn’t know that Annenberg students hear back that early. Are you all applying for the Communication major, or Journalism/PR?

Btw, is anyone else scared to death that you might get a rejection letter after SGR because of a slight gpa drop??

I’m freaking out. My 3.73 might go down to a 3.69 because of the pre-req Stat class for Annenberg. I’m not doing terrible, but I’m likely going to get a B/B+, but all my other classes will be in the A range. Would this cause an automatic rejection? Oh, my goodness, I am on the edge right now of trying to get that grade up! Oh, stat…

as soon as winter grades come out, im going to get a hardcopy of my transcript and hand deliver it to USC since i live about half an hour away. delivering a hard copy is the fastest way to get it in and they give you a receipt once you give it to them so you know they received it!

im pretty sure spring admits mean there isnt enough room for you in the fall. typically, i believe spring admits have lower gpas but i know of some extremely qualified applicants who received spring admit as well
