Official USC 2013 Transfer Thread

Quick question,
when you said you received a SGR, is the request from Admission department or Financial Aid?

admissions office

Did anyone from Dornsife receive SGR yet? Im bio specifically if that makes a difference…

@uschopeful11 Im biochem and I didnt get an SGR either, no worries :)

@JR2013 Thanks Bro! Good luck to you

I’m dornsife SGR

I got a SGR and I applied to dornsife…psych major.

Anyone get a decision yet?
The wait is just killing me, I hope I hear something from them very soon. I saw the decisions thread from last year and it looks like many people started receiving decisions around the second week of May, so hopefully the same happens for this year.

@RandomNewGuy Awesome! Did you apply for that transfer scholarship or how did that happen?!

Does anyone know any good hotels near USC that aren’t too expensive? visiting Memorial Weekend :)

@instantkarma232 oh, okay just wondering! Are you applying for production/as an incoming junior?? also have u heard any word on how many spots there are this year for SCA?

@bubbletea94 double tree in culver city is usually reasonable

@kris0203 maybe the bio department just takes longer…or better yet it means straight acceptances ;)

i hope when we all get in we can have a huge transfer party

Is it bad if I did not receive a SGR? I will be a junior transfer from a UC and I applied as a Psych major so to Dornsife. I have a cumulative 3.56 GPA but I very high upward trend. Had straight A’s the past two quarters, and the quarter before I had 2 A’s and one B+.

i think sgr’s are meant for low unit transfers and people who are taking major pre reqs

So is USC your guys’ #1 choice? In other words, if you get in, you’re attending for sure?

@that1guy USC is number one. But obviously depends on the financial package Id receive. Chapman was pretty generous for me.

@fromsctola im in the same boat as you. Im a junior transfer with an upward trend but no SGR even though i took three courses for my major this semester.

@that1guyy yup…given that i can afford it

Random Question: since USC only allows you to transfer over 64 credits, do the extra classes still count in your gpa?
