Official USC 2013 Transfer Thread

^ what are your stats?

ahh that makes me really nervous because I have nothing on my uscconnect…and since i’m a freshman with not a lot of credits, especially for my majors, i’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be accepted without an SGR first… :c hopefully their requests are rolling…

I don’t even have a backup plan ; ~ ;

wait if you’re rejected, is June 3rd also the deadline by which they’ll inform you? or is it earlier/later?

@bubbletea94 I’m in the same boat as you!

@bubble. same deadline

GUYS I’M WORRIED!

I was reading an article from 2009 and it said that 31 students were admitted to the CS (games) major. This seems really really low… If there are really few spots open then it will be extremley hard to get in. Does anyone know where I can find the stats on how many students are admitted to the CS (games) major every year???

Hey, guys! Sorry I disappeared for a while there. Here are the answers to questions posted (let me know if I miss any):

My USConnect says that they have mailed a request for my spring grades. This was put on there a couple of days ago.

USC may put admission decisions online, but I know for sure you do get something in the mail as well.

My stats:
Sophomore
GPA: 3.86
Coming from a UC
Applied to the Film & TV Production program
Live in CA

Anything else?

How many units exactly? Lol

And do you have any major pre reqs in progress?

Would be going in as a junior transfer with 92 units.
I’ve completed all general ed requirements except one and have taken a number of courses in my major.

they are asking for an SGR and you have 92 units?! I thought they only asked SGR’s of people who have few college credits. That means I might get one too. I really don’t want an SGR… and which UC do you go to and why are you leaving it?

Can’t believe they would want to see more from those stats… Crazy. What is your second choice major?

For those of you who received SGRs, when did you submit your applications?

** Never mind…"@USCAdmission 25 Apr
@fluxplexico The time of application does not affect an admission decision for those that applied by the application deadline."

^ well it doesn’t affect the actual decision but it still might affect the timing they get to reviewing your app

Here are my stats:

College: Top 50 University, Public, Out of state
Year: Freshman
GPA: 3.48 at time of application, probably a 3.45 after transferrable credits
Credits: 14 in the fall but 13 transferrable I think, 16 in progress right now
Applied to: Dornsife as Undecided
Application submitted: 01/20/2013
Other info: I’m an international student studying in the U.S. right now. But I’m from Canada , so I don’t think that would really be that important of a factor.

Let me know if you want any more info.

HI Guys, I just want to say good luck to all of you, hope everyone gets in! #fighton

Can someone tell me what my chances would be I am going to apply this fall for 2014!

Marshall, Business Administration Major

CC Transfer, will have 33 units by summer and in the fall will enroll in 12 more classes. I will be done with the USC prerequisites except for my major I will need to take calc and I will do that in the fall and accounting 2 but it says that I can also take that at USC so I dont think its a big deal if I take it in the spring.

I have been working retail for year and half, I am a cabinet member in a club on campus, volunteer at usc through a program they have, and have over 200 hours of community service.

Do you guys think if I dont get an internship this summer if it would make a difference in acceptance or what I have is enough. I feel like through my job and cabinet position I can explain through my essays how that has helped me experience the business environment.

Thank You!

@aj when did you submit your application?

@ajmy17 I’m pretty much in the same boat as you, except that I have a 4.0 at a community college in California. I still have yet to hear from USC, and that makes me kind of nervous :[

@ronaldot she said 1/20/2013

@harry188 tbh I think it’s impossible for any of us to judge. you just never know, these decisions are often separated by just the littlest things. getting an internship position would only help but it might not be the difference between getting in and not getting in. you look pretty good to me but GPA and essays play a big part and we don’t know what your’s are like, nor could we really judge them like USC admissions counselors do anyways.

Checked the old USC transfer decisions thread and a lot of people seemed to get SGRs throughout May (10, 13, 30, etc.), so, stay positive guys…

To both of you guys that have already received SGR’s, are you guys legacy?
