Official USC 2013 Transfer Thread

@Ngarcia3 wow that’s cruel :\ lol. did you apply to any other schools besides USC and if you did, did you enroll in any of them before you heard just in case?

I remember all that talk about the boxes and June 1/April dates too lol. I would take crazy in here over this grueling slow silence any day.

bubbletea- Yeah, I enrolled at Fullerton and then lost the deposit. I was just relieved that I got in after waiting all summer!

@Ngarcia3 What school at SC are you in and what were your stats??

Anyone of you applying with financial aid?

@joebsk Yeah I’m applying for financial aid. My status has been on review under the financial aid tab for like a month and a half now.

alaintran9- Im in Marshall. According to my TCR my GPA was a 3.56. But my transfer GPA might have been a 3.6 or slightly higher since only 64 units were accepted.

I specifically remember from last year a few people who had 4.0’s got rejected and a lot of people with slightly lower GPA’s,3.5-3.7, were accepted. I think they mainly look at your essays to see if you’re a good fit. Moral of the story: dont stress out if your GPA is not the best!

EDIT: Also when I turned in my SGR I had 3 A’s and a C in Calculus.

@alaintran9 i have no doubt you will get accepted to USC. just relax. Remember Patience is virtue.

By the way, if you don’t mid sharing what did you talk write on your essay? :)

Well I’m happy to hear that a C in math on a SGR isn’t sure rejection.

Anyone starting on their appeal?

Animation- I was really nervous about that. Especially since Calculus is a pre-req. for Marshall. God is good :D

@joebsk My EC one was on being a HS basketball coach. And basically the other common app and supplement essays were about what I hope to achieve as a transfer student if being admitted as a business major.

@Ngarcia3 … w.t.f. 4.0 students were really rejected from Marshall ? … even if they had 60 units junior standings and all pre reqs and almost all ge’s finished they still got rejected? or were they sophomore transfers with some ge’s here and there?

Transfer- Im actually not sure. They were probably missing some stuff or something.

well now I’m tripping that my chances just hindered a little -_-" PLUS IM KOREAN so screw affirmative action

@Ngarcia Do you remember how long it took for you to hear back after submitting your SGR?

Anyone know 3.7 GPA is possible for international student to transfer into Annenberg? thx!

Transfer- I wouldnt worry about it AT ALL. Im sure you will be fine and you will most likely be one of the first to know your decision and not worry about all of this SGR crap. Are you a Junior?

ajmy- I submitted my grades at the end of May and I didnt hear until July. However, some people heard back right after they submitted.

Any guests if the admission would check your facebook page?

@ Ngarcia Yeah I currently have 57 units complete and will have 72 finished by this spring. I’m taking the cultural global diversity GE right now and finished everything else prior to this semester. Problem is I have 2 transcripts at USC one having all A’s and one F because of school error, so the school sent an updated transcript where they fixed the F so it does not show at all … so kinda makes me trip hoping that they don’t use the old transcript against me … Also kinda ****ed how Emory University delayed their priority decisions --" not a great week … I might have to make a $750 deposit to Pepperdine by this Wed. … --" what a waste of money … sigh …
