@RandomNewGuy That’s what I’m thinking… In my opinion. Just to see how many freshman commit or not.

@sophiaeliana from what I’ve seen on the last thread and fellow friends that transferred it is a good sign =]. Just maintain the 4.0 and hopefully your taking English 2 right now during your Spring Semester and finished your math! If you drop your GPA it’ll hurt a lot because you have so little units plus 4.0 first year of college isn’t TOO hard so they won’t think much of it, HENCE the SGR to see if you are a diligent student who is able to maintain that great 4.0 =] if you do get 4.0 for spring, your in I say !

@Transfer2013 it is?? YAY! Yes, that is the plan- so far, I have straight A’s, with nary a minus in sight. However, I’m now taking my first English course, not second- hopefully they’ll have mercy on me for that :l

@RandomNewGuy, that seems extremely likely. It’s a logical thing to do.

guys i’m so doomed. they asked for my winter grades loong ago and i sent them but they were HORRIBLE. i mean just bad. like seriously. and umm yeah i keep getting rejected everywhere i’ve applied. i called my other colleges (chapman, oxy, lmu) they said may - june o.O and i def. don’t want to come back to davis so i have to pay a deposit for a college i got into by may 1. UGH *** i really need to hear back from usc. i don’t want to waste $400 D: alksjfa;ljfsd;lf btw this is my third time applying to usc. if they don’t accept me, i’m gonna kill myself.

anyone have tips/advice how to get a 4.0? I’m really struggling :(

@iloveasianguys

What I do is I record my professors’ lectures (with permission), hand write notes in class, and then type up my notes while listening to the recording later on. That way, I have an easy-to-use document to study off of, and have a mini study session every night. Hope this helps!

Anyone have any idea what your USConnect will look like when admissions makes a decision on your app? Or even when it’s going under review?

decision acceptance = no more status check. enrollment deposit box

Hey guys, this is my first time posting. Just a few days ago, i got an email from a usc undergraduate admission person. It said the following in the email “I am currently reviewing your file and in order to give your application a complete and fair review I will need to know the courses you are currently taking in the spring semester. You can either simply email me back a list these courses or provide an unofficial transcript. Once the official transcripts are available, I will need those also.” I checked my usconnect and it said they needed no additional documents. Is this a SGR? Did anyone else get this email?

@johnboy Haven’t heard of anything of that sort ! It’s probably a good sign though!

@johnyboy Did you list your spring semester courses in your application? If not, that’s probably why they are contacting you. Strange how they are requesting the official transcripts. A spring grade request will be under “Application Status Check” if you receive one. Plus you’ll receive a letter in the mail from USC.

@alaintran I hope so man, I was surprised no one else talked about this email. Kind of sketch.

@ajmy17 I did list my spring courses and I sent them an official transcript that had my spring courses listed in as “in progresss.” I checked under application status check and there was request for a sgr.

@johnyboy If it says you have a SGR there, then you got one! I definitely did not get an email with my SGR, but I’m sure it’s no biggie. I’d definitely take it as a positive.

Also, maybe email your admissions counselor or something if you’re still feeling uneasy about it. Mine is very helpful and quick to respond to any of my concerns.

@johnyboy So it was a SGR then… Nice!

@ajmy17 @alaintran That was a typo lol. I meant to say it did not* request for an sgr

Were we required to submit official AP score reports along with our SAT score?

@sophia thanks it helps…but what is your study session every night? just transcribing notes? how do you study everyday?? :O

@iloveasianguys That’s for the most part it- hearing the lecture a second time helps substantially. Then, about a week before any test/quiz, I create flashcards on studyblue.com and review them constantly.

@sophia thanks so much!! i’ll def. use your tips :)
