Just receieved an SGR via USConnect. Sort of expected that since I have only completed one semester at my CC.
Few of my Stats:
Entering as: Sophomore
GPA:4.0
H.S. GPA: 3.85
Completed Units by spring semester: 31
I really hope I find out the decision before mid July…

@SCGirl101 how far are you in completing their GE’s?

@livingthelife what are your stats?

Sidenote: I wonder if they care about HS stats if you don’t have exactly 30 units but slightly under that (like 27 at the time of application & 45 by the end of the Spring)

@scahopeful
Entering as: Sophomore
GPA: 3.85 at CCC
25 units so far
38 units completed by spring semester
Biological science major

HS GPA: 3.4

So far acceptances have been from Viterbi & SGR’s started with Dornsife and there was 1 Marshall?

I’m guessing 1st choice SCA applicants won’t know for awhile…

what about Annenberg??

@olo59u By the end of the spring semester I will have completed all of the reccomended courses, my major courses, and all of USC’S GE’s that are transferrable from my CC. Good luck!

@scahopeful As for HS stats, they will not focus on them unless you have under 30 units by the end of your spring semester. If you will complete 30 units by the end of the spring semester technically they just use your hs transcript to verify that you have received a HS Diploma. However, it definitely helps to have strong HS grades. If you had lower HS grades and more than 30 units completed by this spring semester, they don’t count it against you!

I am not positive, but I read somewhere that if you are SGR’d they will hold your spot… can anyone confirm this speculation? Fight on!

Quick question for those of you that have received SGR’s: Is the request just on USC Connect or have some of you received an email in addition to the notification on USC Connect?

@georgebailey It is just on USConnect, I did not receive an email.

@SCGirl101 wow how many units per semester did you take?

Thank you SCGirl101 and I believe that an SGR should be taken as a sign that they are interested in you but they need more information before making a final decision.

TO ANYONE WHO GOT AN SGR!

Is this what it looks like?

On the Application Status Check it says “We have requested your spring term grades. We mailed you specific instructions on how to submit your grades for expedited processing. We hope to receive the grades before June 30. We expect you will be notified of our final decision by mid-July.”

I am just making sure I am understand USConnect’s mysterious ways…

My stats (after what I assume is an SGR)

Trying to transfer from UC Davis
Entering as a sophomore
HS GPA: 4.4 (3.6 unweighted)
Current GPA: 3.7
Major applied for: Environmental Science and Health (2nd choice International Relations)
33 semester units completed by the end of this year + a ton of AP credits

@anyabel
Yes that is an SGR.

Got an SGR as well. I checked sometime during 11 this morning and had nothing and just checked and it’s been changed.

@Euphoriaaaaa Yeah that’s what happened to me!
They most likely do it in batches at the same time each day. So sometime around 12-3 pm

Best of luck to us all!

So, as someone who is transferring in as a sophomore (4.0 GPA) would not getting an SGR be a bad thing? Given that most one year transfers usually get them?

Have any SCA applicants got SGRs yet?
