Official USC 2014 Transfer Thread

@Samantha19‌ That’s probably the most interesting thing I’ve read on College Confidential, very unique nonetheless. I don’t know what your chances are nor does anyone else on here. We can’t tell you you’re going to be rejected or accepted but USC loves high GPAs or a strong upward trend. Essays play a key factor too so if you knocked it out of the ball park in your essays, who knows!

There sure do seem to be a lot of Marshall admits posting to the decision thread! Flying Spaghetti Monster I hope I’m next!!! :)>-

BTW I have no idea why people are so freaked out about OASIS. It is possibly the most meaningless/useless thing in the world to us at this point…

So far most of the admits are applicants of Dornsife and Marshall, did anyone applying to other schools hear anything back yet? I applied to SCA which required a lot supplements I guess that’s why it may take them longer to view my applications

Say if people don’t get into SCA/Annenberg/one of the schools that doesn’t start sending out decisions until later, but get into our second choice/undecided, I feel like those people will have the longest wait.

Does anybody know anything about webreg? I can log into Oasis and such but I can’t log into webreg. Perhaps webreg is a more solid indicator of acceptance?

Does anyone know why I cannot log onto oasis when most of you can? :/

@clordia I had a phone interview with an SCA professor. They already reviewed the school supplements. Just waiting on regular admissions which she said I’d hear from in 4 weeks.

I can log into oasis AND webreg…it says proceed to register for term but it says i need to make a registration appointment to register. I never actually tried to click on the link saying proceed to register. Is this a good sign? I only have a 3.2-3.4 gpa but i have great letters of rec and a good story…all i can do is hope but i’m going to try not to spend too much time worrying about this. I mean we all still have a full month for USC to make decisions so everyone should try to focus on the spring term at hand and finish strong.

Do you guys think people will still get SGR’s or do you believe a majority of them are already out by now?

@romab93‌ SGR’s will go for a little bit longer I saw last year they went through the middle of may.

Haven’t heard anything here. Question: I applied for Marshall but I put Econ as my second choice. Now, I don’t want to study Econ so if I get in for my second major how hard is it to transfer into Marshall?

@JR2013 I applied for broadcast journalism.

@NCXfer I heard that the acceptance rate is low because a lot of people believe journalism is an easy major, so A LOT of under-qualified students apply. I have experience writing for Yahoo News, starting my own business, playing saxophone in a large LA marching band, high fashion modeling and being the historian in my school’s FBLA club. Hope this was helpful :)

@‌ kyle2015
Same here hopefully this indicates good news!

Has anyone else clicked on the “permit to register” link in oasis?

@theyadoreyou you had a phone interview?? That’s a really good sign! So far nothing for me, meh…:(

May I know what major did you apply for SCA?

Hey guys I just got into USC Marshall !!! Words cant describe how excited I am right now!!
Just want to give you guys some hope in the frustrating times of waiting.
Ask me any questions I will be most willing to answer:)))

@wdemasters02 nope, last year rejections could log onto WebReg

Congrats @zsx427. Could you post your stats in the stats thread?

@finefreshfierce why does Yahoo have such poor articles? They always have a misleading title, then once you click the article it has bad information. Why is the “journalism” so bad at Yahoo?

@kyle2015 same here! I can log onto webreg and select and courses to add to my bin. It says we have to email admissions with a photo copy of my drivers license from our USC or personal email to verify our identity. Should we give it a try? I haven’t been accepted or been asked for sgr.

@joshpick No don’t, I’m pretty sure I saw somewhere that you can get into trouble for that
