Official USC 2014 Transfer Thread

@rawshark nope, no interview.

@hepburn95‌ thats exactly what it says for most of us. “Terminated” is just referring to the query that looks up degree progress info. It terminated because your degree hasn’t been entered in the system - they only add your degree once they have decided to admit you. So, your chances for admission have not necessarily been “terminated” yet.

@hepburn95‌

You mean this error right?

Its not a rejection. I think that is the default for most people? Is it not? I know that was mine a couple days back.

Received my acceptance into the Marshall School of Business in the mail today!!

Does anyone know when I can expect to receive my financial aid award? It says I have 2 weeks from receiving my acceptance to respond and my award amount will factor heavily into my decision.

@dmdwelle‌ Thank you for your help! I haven’t been able to log in to Oasis for the past week so when I saw that, I thought it was something negative.

@Karlos‌ Yup, that’s the one! Thanks for your input, hopefully I’ll be getting accepted in a few days like you did!

@gbaby1‌ They say within 2 weeks but it seems like most people get it within a week, but their process could be different this year. Congratulations! Best of luck!

Congrats @gbaby1! Mind sharing your stats?

@gbaby1‌ Your mail comes early! Congrats!! Please post stats on the Decision thread if you don’t mind… <a href=“USC Transfer Decisions 2014 - Transfer Students - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/1645573-usc-transfer-decisions-2014.html</a>
Thanks!

Do you guys know how much financial aid USC gives to transfers? Because my decision strongly depends on how much financial aid I receive.

@olo59u It varies by person depending on your FAFSA and CSS Profile.

yes, i figured that.

@olo59u‌ They don’t treat transfer students any different than students who started there. So if you can find a comparable situation to yours, it’s likely you will receive similar aid, but it’s impossible to tell.

So what were you trying to ask then?

Why are some of you guys even worrying that have 3.7-4.0 gpa? Lol, It’s pretty obvious most of you will get accepted with that type of gpa…I’d say you have like a 90% chance with a gpa that darn high. It’s my ass who needs to worry, I only have a 3.2-3.4 gpa smh. What’s worse…I had a dream I got rejected and then fell back to sleep again and had another dream that I got an acceptance packet in the mail. I don’t know what the hell my chances are in all honesty…not even my dreams could decide for me smh…

But then again a 4.0 with only like 25-35 units isn’t that strong compared to 4.0 with 50+ units…so i guess nobody can really be too sure.

According to the USC stats transfer decision thread there are people that have been accepted for Fall 2014 already. Are decisions suppose to be coming out this early? I thought we would be hearing back end of May beginning of June? Does anyone know whats the status on that? ANXIOUSLY WAITING FOR A DECISION LETTER!

@gctosc‌ Yeah, many people already have a decision. Most of the decisions coming out so far have been from Marshall (Business) and a few from Dornsife. June 3 is the absolute latest you may hear, but I think they started going out around April 25. And we are all just as anxious as you are. ;)

@gctosc in the same boat as you man…but from what the admissions office has been telling everyone on twitter is basically that MOST admissions decisions will be sent during late may-june 3rd. (this includes spring grade requests as well) so my advice is try not to worry about it so much, just focus on your tests and finals. Afterall, you may get a sgr at the end of may, and it would be better to show them that 3.7+ semester gpa. That could be the deciding factor for your admission decision dude. So just keep working hard and fighting on!

thanks @dmdwelle‌ ! Good luck to everyone who applied! I applied as undecided so not sure where I fall into! :-S :-S

thanks @kyle2015 ! good luck to you as well! Hope it works out for the best :slight_smile: Fight On!

For anyone who has received their acceptance letter in the mail, was your Connect updated with an acceptance letter? Or did you get the physical copy first? Thanks!
