Has anyone been denied yet? I’m thinking that they may be trying to send out all of the acceptances/SGRs before breaking the bad news.

@esai23 I feel like I’m going to be in a similar boat this semester. Hopefully I can ace my Econ final so I can be at an A instead of an A-

@Chasel Almost positive that the people who get denied find out last

@bballprofessor23 This is from USC:

It looks like they’re doing it by college. A lot of Marshall and Dornsife (plus some more) students got something, either an SGR or acceptance, while other applicants to other schools haven’t received anything yet.

@whosnext I read that SCA was the most selective school at around 4%, Annenberg can’t be any worse than that right ?

Has anyone else who applied to Dornsife not heard anything yet?

@cidzor I wish it wasn’t like that. I applied to SCA and even if I don’t get in to that major I still won’t find out for at least 3 weeks

@Nbronco1 I applied to Dornsife and haven’t heard anything yet. What major did you apply to?

@Chasel historically, by the pattern of past decision threads, there is still a big wave next week and mid-next next week and after that there is always the first rejection posted so yeah.

@USCGURLZ335 @esai23 thanks for the good vibes

@jack2011 same here, like I said next week there should be some SGR’s and acceptances, hopefully that is us.

@RawShark How did your phone interview go? The applicant pool must be competitive this year because I have never heard of SCA giving phone interviews in the past

@romab93 I applied to economics. What about you?

@fdominguez You are right. I called admissions a couple days ago and they told me the same thing. They said this week was going to be primarily SGRs and then next week is going to be a lot of decisions !

@fadumbear but what if you get into your second choice?

Exactly how competitive is Annenberg compared to other schools? I read somewhere in this post that they accept 60-80 people (correct me if I’m wrong) but where did they even find this information?

That information came from me. I personaly met with assistant director of admissions from annenberg in mid april. Those numbers are reliable

Just logged in, SGR. I’m happy about it to be honest. I’m right on the cusp of getting in and I have a 4.0 this semester so I feel good about it.

@scahopeful I applied as a production major for my first choice for SCA. My focus is cinematography. My second choice was critical studies, but if I don’t get into production and do get into critical studies, I will probably reapply next year. They also have done phone interviews in the past, I personally haven’t received one. SCA doesn’t have a high acceptance rate, but if you get in it means you were one of the elite. However, if you don’t get in it doesn’t mean your a bad filmmaker. Don’t lose hope! Just applying gives you a chance of getting into the school!

By the way what section of SCA are you applying for? What are your Stats?

@JR2013 So you’re saying that out of the 8400 applicants applied and only 2500 applicants accepted (Fall 2013 records), only 60-80 are accepted to Annenberg? That ranges from the 2-3% range which seems very unlikely.

@ahahanjun You have to take into account the number of students applying to Annenberg specifically. I think it was said that around 800 are applying to Annenberg, and 60/800 would draw an acceptance rate of 7.5%. Difficult indeed, but I guess that’s just how it is.
