Official USC 2014 Transfer Thread

@olo59u If you would still rather go to USC, you could always major in Communications while writing for the Daily Trojan, Neon Tommy, etc. That’s what I plan on doing if I can’t get into Annenberg for broadcast journalism. If you research a lot of top news anchors today, you will find that many of them majored in a wide range of subjects while still writing.

Who else is still waiting on a reply for Marshall? And does anyone know from reading last years posts when the latest acceptance was sent out? Im feeling that as more time passes the lower the chances are that acceptances are sent out…

@NCXfer I was thinking of that but isn’t Communications an Annenberg major? And as far as the daily trojan and neon tommy, do you HAVE to be in Annenberg to write for those?

I thought I had a pretty good chance of getting in as a junior transfer, with a 3.5-3.6 rising gpa, great essays, internships at top tier financial firms with letters of rec, and a legacy…guess I was wrong…plan on appealing if I don’t get accepted though

FYI, many schools allow extensions on the acceptance deposit deadline, if any of you are waiting for USC but don’t want to make the deposit on another

@olo59u Yes comm is an annenberg major, but I believe its the easiest to get accepted to. And no, you don’t have to be in Annenberg to write for any newspaper. There are people from every school at USC that contribute.

@NCXfer Gotcha, thats what I thought but was not entirely sure. Definitely something to consider now.

@plaurance94 I wouldn’t give up hope yet. I believe we submitted our applications after the 2013 thread did and they had a high amount of acceptances from about the 14-20th

@olo59u If I got into Communications, I would still try to change majors to broadcast. I simply don’t have the EC’s that they’re looking for in a broadcast applicant at this time so I’m not that confident of my chances even though I have a 4.0. Thankfully I’m not applying until 2015 so I have time to change that.

@NCXfer Yeah, my first choice was Print/Online and second was Comm, so we shall see what it is when the official word comes from them. I’ll probably call and ask how likely it would be to internally transfer to my first choice and then go from there on my decision.

SCA applicants (others too) - tomorrow marks the “end of the week” - a time that so many admission counselors said we would hear back. Let’s hope that tomorrow is the day for many of us!!!

@greengecko‌ yeah lets hope so! Im already waiting for 6 months, complicated story.

@stayf1y highly doubt it, especially if you’ve had mostly A’s for the rest of your report cards

To those who had their Oasis Stars Interactive Audit Report fully updated and prepared, how long did it take for you to receive a letter / legitimate recognition that you were accepted?

If not, can anyone tell me/confirm that I was potentially just accepted? Thank you!

As always, replace *** with i, m, g, u, r, period, com.

@greengecko Yes, you have just been accepted. Congrats!

You will probably receive your package next week.

@greengecko, did you get an interview?

@scahopeful No I didn’t! I suppose you don’t need an interview to get in?

Right, and congrats! I just couldn’t remember whether or not you said you had one haha

Haha no worries. I’m sure all other SCA applicants will hear back soon!
