Official USC 2014 Transfer Thread

@greengecko‌ Congratulations!!!

@greengecko I sure hope so… Because it’s just now starting to drive me up the wall. I honestly thought we all would have heard back by now.

@greengecko can you post again when you get your official admission letter

Thanks guys. @transfer919191 Yes, I’ll post when I get a letter to show you guys how soon/late it comes after the fact.

@greengecko thank you and congrats

It seems as though the past couple of days were busy for notifications. Both those who appealed and those who were Spring admits hoping to get bumped to the Fall were notified. My son was not bumped but will do the American University in Paris program in the Fall instead.

Has there been any record of somebody’s Oasis Star Interactive Audit Report updating but was still REJECTED? I’d be interested to know if that has ever happened.

@transfer919191‌ yea, theres a little hope left…a few days…but its pretty much a given that if you havn’t received an acceptance before the 20th, its a decline which they save for the last

By the way, is Oasis only used for those who applied for some type of financial aid?

USC waits to send rejections the last week of May. I can’t think of a year where that hasn’t happened. There is one more week left before we hit the last week of May.

@olo59u‌ … Comm. is the easiest major to get into and if you get into Comm., it’s pretty easy to change your major once you’re inside Annenberg. That’s the difficult part.

Also, all are welcome to write for Neon Tommy (it’s required for print and digital majors). Daily Trojan is not run by Annenberg; it’s run out of the Student Union with advertising money. But anyone can write for that org too.

@sielburt‌ … I also got my acceptance letter than last week of May. Don’t freak people out.

@RandomNewGuy‌ thanks for the info! So, hypothetically if you were in my position and had acceptances at other “J-schools” and USC only offered you undeclared acceptance would you take the “risk” and still go to USC?

So I haven’t got a SGR or decision yet… applied to dornsife as an econ major.
does this mean I am rejected because they save rejections for the end…?

@RandomNewGuy‌ it isn’t my intention to freak people out. My point is that I believe USC tends to save all rejections for the last week of May. I didn’t say they stopped sending out acceptances, though.

@maymonroe94‌ No, it doesn’t mean that you are rejected. Admissions said that they will be sending spring grade requests until the June 3rd deadline. I wouldn’t assume anything just yet!

@playrance94 nope. Some people who haven’t applied for FA can access it

I don’t think we can definitely say that all rejections are done the last week of May. But, according to CC, many rejections are received during that time but some were received before. Acceptances have been received anywhere from the last week of March to mid July. Don’t lose hope guys!

Just got two acceptance letters in the mail today!! Feeling more confident about usc now, let’s hope this trend continues with usc :slight_smile:

@almxy45‌ congrats! Which universities?

@olo59u‌ … That’s tough. I said the same thing about 20 pages back, but I was in that situation last year and I took the gamble (Undecided/Dornsife over other schools). But I know my situation isn’t particularly normal. I was also a bit more limited in terms of geography (it was SoCal or bust for me). If I got into another highly ranked program, I might have passed on USC.
