Official USC 2014 Transfer Thread

@5nonnegotiables I didn’t get a confirmation email from them, but I was already in contact with the head of the scholarship foundation, and she emailed me telling me that it was complete. As long as you got the confirmation emails that your recommendations were in, you should be fine.

@dmdwelle okay haha. I was trying to figure it out so I was going to ask my mom to fax them but we ended up just scanning in a printed copy of my unofficial transcript. Do you think it’s a bad idea to go ahead and fax/mail the official transcript as well? I know it says something about expedited processing on USConnect and I didn’t know if it would be quicker to upload/fax it unofficially or mail it officially (assuming that they need the official grades)

@scahopeful‌ When I talked to admissions, they said to call them when I uploaded my unofficial grades, so that they definitely know they are in. Not sure if you have done that already, but it’s worth a shot.

Anyone applied to Annenberg get SGR?

@goforusc12‌ A friend of mine did, she’s a sophomore transfer with a 4.0, Public Relations major.

@scahopeful‌ IF you’re sending unofficial transcripts you’ll need to have your school send final (official) transcripts directly to USC as well so that they know you aren’t committing fraud. The point of sending unofficial grades is to just get the info to USC as quickly as possible in case official transcripts aren’t readily available.

@Ngarcia3‌ wait…5 semesters taking 16 units?!? How so?

@Ngarcia3‌ thanks a lot!! gave me a little courage going into this last week…I have about the same stats as you did

To those of you who have your stars report filled out but not received a letter in the mail yet, has your Connect updated at all?

@dmdwelle thanks!

Accepted to USC Annenberg! Public Relations Major! 3.6 GPA

@JR2013‌ Congrat!! Did you get it in mail? Or usconnect?

@goforusc12 Yea, I got an SGR for Broadcast Journalism on cinco de mayo. I have ONE more teacher to submit final grades, then they’re getting sent to USC. I really hope he enters the grade soon

congrats @JR2013!! That’s exciting! Especially after last year. Good job to you!

Who do you all think I should call to express my desire to transfer internally into Anneberg as soon as possible and get the ball rolling on that since I was accepted only as an undeclared

@jr2013 were you SGRed?

Thanks guys!! No i didnt get an sgr. I saw online. I havnt recieved the package yet

@scahopeful I highly doubt that they take summer courses (that are in progress) into consideration. I think it works just like those who dont get a SGR, which is you must maintain a certain GPA after being accepted. I believe all my courses were only 3 units.

@spiffyb0i Yes, it should be about the long. Which is pretty standard (about 2 years). If you’re admitted Fall 2014 you can graduate Spring 2016 (but not receive your actual diploma until December) or Spring 2017

^
What @Ngarcia3‌ is true. Took me 5 semesters to graduate, and I transferred in the max number of units. But I was in accounting so I don’t know if that’s how it is with other majors.

p.s. I also got into Marshall with a C in Calculus. I got spring grade requested too, but only because I took Calc 1 pass/no pass and they wanted to see how I did in Calc 2…
