Official USC 2014 Transfer Thread

I got in Annenberg yesterday morning.
Cannot log into OASIS.
No SGR.
Everybody FIGHT ON!

@goforusc12 what major in Annenberg?

@goforusc12 Congrats!!!

By the way, my offer says:
"To reserve your place in the class and enable you to register at USC, you must submit
a $300 Enrollment Commitment Deposit (or valid waiver request) by May 1, 2014. "

Anybody has the same situation?

@goforusc12‌ congrats :slight_smile:

@arashbh‌ thank you !

@goforusc12 - No worries. For Fall admits, your deposit is due June first or two weeks after you receive your admission http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/transfer/admittedfall/nextsteps.html</a> Spring admits have until August 1st to deposit http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/transfer/admittedspring/nextsteps.html</a></p>

It looks like someone at USC forgot to change the wording when moving on from freshman admissions to transfer admissions.

And congrats!

@Sanderella24‌ I have not heard back either. No SGR or anything. Annenberg applicant

admitted to USC. got my decision via USconnect. :smiley: :D

anybody for the price school?

@arashbh‌ the password should be mmddyy and not mmddyyyy ^^ hope that works for you now

Oh my goodness, my Star report was filled out but it says the only course I earned credits for is Psychology 101, and I never took a psych course 0.0 whaaa?

And congrats to everyone who got in! :D

@HopeForMarshall Transfer admission statistics don’t factor into rankings. Think of it this way, you had a 3.89 and were admitted for Spring but there have been lower GPAs in the same major admitted for Fall. I don’t think objective stats are the main thing that factors into Spring admission.

@Redick4 No. Where are people getting this idea from?

@nokcha1004 Please do a thread search. You will see that access to OASIS has nothing to do with admission decision.

@StreakRogue They may SGR you and in that case, you have a better chance because they will see that you have continued to keep your grades up. Performance in college > Performance in high school. You may want to just go ahead and send your grades (even if you don’t get an SGR). I’ve heard it helps.

@arashbh Try the mmddyy format. Do not use the slashes. If that doesn’t work then don’t panic. OASIS doesn’t matter.

@irisink Maybe you have a course that is equivalent to their Psych course.

Everyone who has a filled out STARS IAR, don’t worry about the courses/course credit not being filled out properly. If they gave you credit for something you don’t think you’ve taken before, just assume they have a course equivalent to yours but called a different name. If they haven’t given you credit, assume that either it is not finished updating or they just didn’t have a course equivalent to it so couldn’t transfer it. Once you get your official acceptance, I’d start communicating with my admissions counselor and try to petition for credit for those courses you didn’t get credit for.

Marshall Applicant
Just woke up at 5am with a sense of destiny and first reaction was to check OASIS;
STARS filled out! Today at 1am! YES yes yes yes \m/

My restrictions had changed yesterday but the IAT did not update until 1:37 this morning.
If this means I am in, I am living proof that there is still Marshall applications to be seen
don’t lose hope like I did for a second.

Argh, I just want my SGR decision already!

@Trojfan131 When did you send your grades?

@scahopeful I sent them in on tuesday at around noon. I realize that they may have a few other people to get through as well (lol) but this wait is brutal.

@scahopeful‌ and to anyone worried about your Stars report accuracy, mine was filled out accurately for the most part, initially. Once I submitted my intent to enroll and the deposit, the report added a few more transfer credits and my report was more accurate.

If you are for sure going to USC and are concerned about that, put your deposit down and see if your report has changed (after a day or so.) If it doesn’t, then you should call a counsellor before orientation to get that sorted out.

OH man, I totally forgot that USC doesn’t accept credits from most schools outside of California ;-; Looks like I might be starting back as a freshman…

@irisink‌ guess what? It worked. Thanks! :smiley:
My activity restrictions update: 09:01 may 20th.
What on earth does that mean?
