Official USC 2014 Transfer Thread

@transferr2014‌ @scahopeful‌ oh noooo :frowning: then I should not put my hope too high. thankkksss for the infoo guysss :)

@alohaloha Have you checked your Oasis?

@Ngarcia3‌ I do not have access to OASIS and my usconnect has not changed.

@Surhov818‌

I actually haven’t gotten in yet so I don’t know why you thought I was accepted

Quick question people

I received an spring grade request around May 6th and I sent in my spring grades already during the second week of May. However, usc connect says that they still need my spring grades. Admissions should have received my official transcript by now. Does that mean that they just haven’t updated connect yet or what?

@almxy45 It could. I would call if I were you because it seems like everyone else’s statuses are changing back to the “We have received your common app” prompt. What does it say on your OASIS (restrictions/stars report)

has anyone had their restrictions change more than once?

Hey everyone I just got my acceptance letter in the mail! I want to thank everyone on this forum because it really does answer many questions a lot of us have. For everyone that is still waiting and worried about all that online updates don’t worry! I did not get an info besides the letter in the mail, my usconnect and oasis still shows the same thing as before. I wish everyone can get in because it is an amazing feeling! feel free to contact me with any questions! good luck!!!

@ilovestemcells‌ From the past threads, I don’t think so. When did your restrictions change?

@swaggyUSC‌ So your IAR report still has the red errors? When did your restrictions change? Congratulation on your acceptance!!

@MarshallBound‌ yea everything looks the same on the site. for restrictions it says “Activity Restrictions as of 10:19am on 05/23/2014”

@swaggyUSC‌ Well your the first person to have the restrictions update and the Stars IAR report still have the red error. Which major did you get into by the way?

@MarshallBound‌ I called the admissions office this morning and they said they do not tell you online before the official post mail letter is sent out. for the people finding out online before the post mail that is because your mail takes longer to arrive so the online updates 2 days after the decision is made. I found out by mail before everything else because I live about 20 minutes away from USC so it arrived quicker. I am a sociology major. I went to UC Berkeley out of high school on a football scholarship then had to move back to LA to take care of my grandmother who suffered a stroke so i went to LAVC for a year and now i am blessed to stay in LA with my grandma and attend my dream school!

@swaggyUSC Wow, you have such an amazing story. I’m incredibly happy you got in, best of luck at 'SC!

@fightingtitan‌ thank you!!

@Bigwolf‌ nice! :)

Have any accepted transfers who have filled out the housing application received an assignment yet? I know we’re not supposed to hear back until mid-June, but I heard some transfers already got an assignment.

Hey guys-I am a SGR applicant… It said my restrictions were updated on may 28th at 3:27 pm, but I have no change in my STARS reports etc. what does this mean? What is the change in restrictions indicative of?

@HopeForMarshall‌ Yeah I’ll be attending for Marshall! Also, I’m not sure about your theory of high GPA students receiving an acceptance first. My Star Audit Report was filled out on 4/30, while I was accepted 5/1. But my GPA when I applied was 3.74 (good, but a lot of people on here have higher than this), 3.72 after my winter quarter (killed my upward trend). I did, however, had some pretty good essays and hopefully some solid letter of recs. For me, I think it came down to the essays that put me over the top.
@scahopeful‌ Still crossing my fingers for ya
@greengecko‌ Housing application…lol. I was told by many people–including an old alumni transfer–that dorming would be extremely difficult to get as a transfer. Practically impossible, so I was told. Yet a lot of people on here have already gotten housing while I didn’t even end up applying. What. The. Hell.
To everyone who has been accepted…congrats and hopefully I’ll see you at the July orientation / the next school year.
To everyone who has not heard a decision yet / sgred…don’t completely rule yourself out. I honestly thought my chances were slim in getting in. Hell, I even lost a lot of sleep tossin’ and turnin’ pondering when I would receive my notification. I know that’s easy for me to say now that I’ve been accepted, but I’ve been in your position before and I’ve constantly thought about attending USC for well over a year now. Hopefully you guys put up great academic performances for your Spring semesters, giving USC a good reason why they should accept you.
Fight on.

@peaceluvtheater‌ Give it a day or two to see whether the Stars IAR updates. However, someone recently debunked this because he/she received a physical copy of an acceptance and no notification through Connect or any changes in Oasis.

Thank you so much @MarshallBound‌ :slight_smile: I hope everything works out for you and all of the people on this thread. And @Spiffyb0i‌, I am having one of many sleepless nights right now lol…I just want to know something definitive already :stuck_out_tongue:
