Official USC 2014 Transfer Thread

@dmdwelle That’s a good point! Is that true though? Do they continue filling spaces after people turn down their acceptance? I was under the impression that they over admit because they don’t expect everyone to accept their offer.

@Anticipation2014‌ Well based on the last time I saw the transfer admittance page, half of the transfer applicants actually enrolled.

I was SGRed last week and got my acceptance package today. STARS IAR was filled out on Tuesday. It shouldn’t take long once they have all they need. Good luck!

Also, I’m in Indiana

@dmdwelle‌ @MarshallBound‌ Expanding on dmd’s theory, if they keep going back and accepting people as others decline, wouldn’t it be a little late in the game by now? When is the deadline to deposit? If it’s after the 3rd it really doesn’t make much of a difference.

@scahopeful‌ I have noticed those that are accepted after a SGR get a fast response! Acceptance or not I would like to know considering I have $350 nonrefundable enrollment deposit due monday for my back up college. haha btw Congrats to you!! :)

@Anticipation2014‌ The problem is I think the majority of accepted students don’t even press that decline button until last minute. If I was deciding between lets say Cornell and USC I would wait until the last minute to decline either choice or maybe not even care to decline once I accepted the other college. So while dmd’s point can be valid, I doubt a huge number of spots will open.

Read this, it’s helpful in understanding the waiting game.

@MarshallBound‌ I agree 100%!

Hey everyone,

Just called my admisisions counselor and he said that if you received an sgr and end up with a 3.6 or higher, you are an likely candidate for admission as long you have the fulfilled the major requirements for USC and don’t have a lot of drops on your transcript!!!

Omg i got a 3.59… hating life right now :-SS

@marshallbound not to mention those spaces are probably for SGRs.

What are the other Spring 2015 admitters doing? I think I might accept the offer as USC is an amazing change of both academic scenery and actual surrounding as I am from rural Pennsylvania. Am I silly for accepting the Spring 2015 offer and basically just working for fall 2014 and graduating a semester later than planned?

@alohaloha The extra condition was that I receive at least a 3.0 GPA for the spring term, and that I have at least a B in all my math/science classes, and a C+ in all my non-major classes.

But I meet all those requirements, so I think I’m in all the way now. My usconnect account now has an intent to enroll option (It wasn’t there a day ago).

@rjl757 Of course you need to pay the deposit. How could they assign a room to someone who isn’t sure to attend yet?

@transferr2014 Not at all! Graduating a semester later, is not a bad thing, just different.

Guys what if I can’t even login to OASIS? Is that bad? I got an SGR and submitted it on Wednesday, but I tried logging into OASIS for the first time on Thursday. It just says invalid ID/password.

@transferr2014‌

I’m going to be admitted for spring and I’m more excited than ever! It gives me more time to figure out what I have to do once I go there for spring. The only thing that I’m really disappointed for not going for fall is that I’ll miss football season :\ Other than that I can’t wait to go! I was already expecting to go there for to attend more than 2 years (I’m a junior transfer but they’ll probably consider me to be a sophomore because of my amount of credits that transferred). Why are you kinda bummed?

@coolkid094 I’ve been so into leaving home finally in a few months that to stay for 7-8 more months is just kind of a bummer. Also, going into USC with a much smaller group of transfers and graduating a semester later also is a drawback for me. Although, I think I’m going to do Spring anyway as you really can’t beet Socal weather and USC is an amazing opportunity.

@transferr2014 Are you a CCer? I’m not (I go to a 4 year) so I will be graduating 1 year early and I’m a Spring admit…(but I go to a University and I am a sophomore so I can pick up at USC where I leave off at my current university in December)

Does anyone know where to look to find out what year you will be once you enter?
