Does anyone want to read each other’s essays? I wouldn’t mind emailing mine out… I’m really hoping for USC. How many other people applied to Marshall?

I really really want to get in… Dropped Calc 2 which means that UC Berkeley Haas and UCLA will rescind provisional acceptance - if I get in this month…

@travel7seas We all “really really want to get in” as well. To answer your question, I applied to Marshall with Econ (Dornsife) as my alternative major. Good luck to you man (but not too much to the point where you take my spot lol).

@McGreans The thing is, none of us completely know how the admissions work. Lots of people always want to be chanced, but we don’t know and don’t work for the admissions office. My two cents would be that you do have a chance. All of our opinions of chancing each other have zero value; it’s just our opinion. When it comes to a prestigious school, I’ll never give anyone more than a solid shot and you have a solid shot. If I were you, just continue to work hard and don’t worry about things you can’t change. We all submitted our apps already and what’s done is done.
Good luck to everyone! I want you guys to get in, just not at my expense haha. 3 more weeks until they send out first batch of acceptances.

@Travel7Seas I applied to Marshall as well. There are at least three other students in my current ACCT 2 and Econ classes that have applied to Marshall. Pretty small number of business students at my CC, I might add. From that small statistic, I would imagine there are probably A LOT. The other students at my CC that applied have GPAs from 3.9-3.7 with at least 40 units and most if not all the Gen. Ed. and additional courses completed as of last semester. They are also military vets with substantial amount of service behind them. I guess this is a ‘snap shot’ or sample from at least one CC.

I’m a business major. If I already took calc 1 in the fall and reported my grade and taking calc 2 right now, will they most likely send me an sgr?

Did anyone else’s USC Connect change!!! I haven’t checked it in a couple weeks but thought to check it today… I also have a “submit mid year grades” thing now is that for everybody or does this mean im getting an SGR… it also has a “withdraw application” option on one section that hasnt been there before

@usc2014hopeful I don’t know why there is now a withdraw application link . I wonder why someone would do that, unless they have been accepted, and then decide to take another offer at another school and want to open that spot up. otherwise, why would that be there do you think it would be up there so early, before decisions have come out? does everyone have that?

The withdraw is up there incase you have been accepted somehwere else and choose not to wait for a decision from USC. If you click on it, it will ask you where you have chose to attend.

If you took the time to apply, and decisions haven’t come out yet, even if I committed somewhere else I’d still want to see if I got in, with all the time doing the application and all. I wouldn’t withdraw until I heard and I don’t know anyone who would either. I thinks that seems weird and a bit premature don’t you

I am Senior who will be attending a ccc after high school graduation in order to transfer to a 4 year. I am primarily looking at to transfer to USC, UCLA , UCB, or UCD for econ or business. I’ve had my sights on USC as potential transfer destination for awhile and I recently discovered that they accept sophomore transfers however if you don’t complete 30 credits by the time you submit your application they base their deliberations upon high school and SAT/ACT scores

…Well I didn’t quite take high school seriously and worked way under my potential my junior year so my transcript looks kinda of scary. Also I didn’t take take the SAT due to that fact that I figured I wouldn’t need since I would be attending a cc. I plan to work hard and overload on course work this summer and Fall in order to get 30 credits by the time I submit application. I did take some AP exams in High School ( us history, eng 3 comp <- passed both with 4s and I plan on taking ap gov this year so that might add to my credits) I know my grades are going to have to be stellar (between 3.7-4 to be competitive)

Do you guys have any advice/tips on preparing to transfer to USC as a sophomore? For instance; whether I should take the SATs at some point before submitting applications, how difficult it is to transfer as a sophomore, whether its advisable to transfer early, whether I need to finish all my GEs before transferring as a sophomore, whether EC’s both recent and High school are important on an application ore anything in general that would help me during my transfer process that would give me a good edge during deliberations. Thanks!
