Official USC 2014 Transfer Thread

Hi all. I was searching this forum looking for info on USC transfer student info because my son just received his acceptance letter in the mail on Saturday. Has anyone else received their acceptance letters yet?

Whattttttttt Congrats to your son! I think I speak for most people when I say we have not received any word thus far. Congrats again!

Thanks @greengecko‌. We are very excited for him. We were not even existing expecting to hear back until at least May so it came at a complete surprise. I was fishing around on here to see if anyone else received one because I had some questions. I hope you all hear soon! Good luck!

@ymjones777‌ Congrats to you and your son! Is your son applying as a transfer student? If so, what major and did his application status changed on USConnect (admission login)?

@lkm291‌ thank you! Yes he applied as a transfer student from Biola University to USC Veterbi Engineering. Yes, his status changed on the website first. We noticed it on Friday then he got the packet in the mail that same day. The website now asks him to commit and pay $300 enrollment fee.

does anyone know the earliest we hear back? i saw last year’s thread and ppl already heard back early may? my patience level is very very low  or does anyone know any hints to see if we are possibly in? besides seeing the box of the deposit fee…good luck to everyone! ^^

@ymjones777‌ - Congrats! I never would have thought that results would come out so early.

Hmmm… I wonder if it’s because your son applied as an in-state student… (If USC looks into instate/OOS)

@iloveasianguys - Read the posts right above your post. A student has already been accepted. :)

Hello,

I was just accepted to an internship over the summer at USC. Is this important information that I should send in an amendment to the admissions office, or is it not important because I haven’t participated yet? My point would be to say that since I was accepted into the summer program, I would like to continue my internship during the year if I were admitted.

@esai23 thanks! but do you know of any hints of an acceptance? is there something like regarding last name or what school you applied to as of when you would hear back? i don’t want to pay a deposit fee at another school lol

Obviously Viterbi applicants are being reviewed. An acceptance and an SGR were given already. I’m guessing Dornsife is next.

People say that certain departments get to be reviewed first, namely Viterbi, Dornsife, Marshall? Anyone know what is the more exact pattern? Anxious to know, don’t want to wait till June. Any speculation welcome. …

Hey guys! I’ve been keeping up with this years USC transfer thread post since last years thread gracefully faded away, but I’ve never posted until now. I didn’t plan on posting until i received this year’s decision, but i am so shocked to hear someone has been accepted mid way through April that i am compelled to ask questions lol. First, @ymjones777 can you provide evidence of the acceptance? Not saying i don’t believe you, but a photo would be awesome!
As a side note, I’ve been committed to transferring to USC for the past 2 years and although last year’s rejection wasn’t the greatest feeling in the world the entire process did teach me a lot so i’m happy to answer any tricky questions the new transfers may have. The wait may be long, but its crazy fun to speculate meanwhile haha wish all of you guys the best of luck!

does anyone know when marshall reviews apps? is this by last name or something?? i know someone who got an sgr already but i need to know if they have reviewed my app already. im seriously dying here lol :expressionless:

@ymjones777‌ Please provide evidence of said acceptance…

@itzsupermanyo‌ …its not me its my son… But it is true. Im sure people here will start hearing from them soon as well. My son says maybe he received his quickly because he is a 3/2 physics/engineering student at a partner school already. Just a possible theory. And lol… I suppose I can show proof . I’m a proud mom so I been showing everyone already I guess one more person couldn’t hurt… Lol… Not sure how to do that on here?

@itzsupermanyo‌ @RoysGoin2College‌ It’s a bit rude to demand evidence, don’t you think? They don’t exactly owe us some sort of proof of acceptance. This thread is a collaborative support system, not a bragging outlet - there’s no reason to lie.

Does/did anyone have the “Appeal Admission Decision” bubble under the Admissions Documents tab?

I feel like I’ve been asking this question for 10 years lol

@scahopeful‌ Where? Under required documents, documents for upload/fax?

@ymjones777 Congrats to you and your son! Awesome that you’re getting a decision this early, really helps with all of the “other” things that you may need to get figured out to make this transition.

@scahopeful No, if you mean under required documents, I do not have that bubble. When did you first notice it? I bet if you gave them a call, they would tell you the meaning of that bubble, if it actually is an indicator of a decision. I recall someone else saying that they called when they were curious as to whether else they had received an SGR or not, so I’d be they’d clear it up with you, too.
