Official USC 2014 Transfer Thread

@randombookie‌ I heard they come out end of April/beginning of May! I applied to Dornsife also so I feel ya

only a few more weeks!

@hopefultrojan9, thanks! :)

@hopefultrojan9 Is that just for Dornsife? Or does that prediction apply for all schools?

@hopefultrojan9‌ I got a spring grade request and so did my friend. My friend got an email, but for me it only showed up on USConnect under admission documents where it asked for another transcript. I called them to see what it was about and they said on May 9th, they requested my spring grades.

Does USC require the mid-year report if you apply at the end of the semester and send official grades?

.

@mberry24 DId your last semester end before Feb 1 deadline? Transfer’s don’t need to send in a mid-year reports anyhow. If you haven’t applied yet for this school year you are going to have to apply for next school year as the deadline has passed and USC does not except applications for the spring semester. I hope I’m understanding you correctly. In any case, applicants have to submit all official transcripts when they apply AND send them official transcripts once their current terms are completed.

HopeforMarshall No, I’m applying next year. I was just wanting to know about the process in general.

And I was referring to a situation where you apply after you’ve completed Fall courses, and have your official grades already.

@mberry24 Yes, you send all the official transcripts upon applying. In the application, you have to enter your planned courses for the next/current term and you will have to send those in too when it is completed (USC can either reject you at which point you wouldn’t need to send in your spring grades, make a request to see Spring Grades in order to help them make a admission decision, or flat out accept you at which point you would need to send them the official spring grades anyway). Yea, long and short, transfers don’t need to send in mid-year reports. Haha.

USC does accept applicants for the Spring Semester. They just don’t accept applications for the spring.

@greengecko‌ to be honest I have no idea :frowning: just by reading everyone’s posts and previous ones from other forums it seems as if Dornsife comes out the earliest so that is what I’m assuming

@sorakeybade‌ oh okay! When did you guys hear back? I heard SGR hear back in mid July? That’s so late :frowning:

@scahopeful right, Spring admits but not Spring applicants.

Does anyone know how USC looks at completion of GenEds? I followed IGETC so I don’t have any of the USC Gen Eds, but like I said earlier in the thread, my school is offering all of them over the summer so if I get in I can take them then.

Also, I applied for Marshall because I had all the prereqs and accounting classes done with As, but is it easy to transfer into Viterbi or possibly double major? I emailed asking a week ago but haven’t received an answer. Hopefully my chances are good and I’ll get in. I like the flexibility of USC way better than any of the UCs I am considering.

I have a question.

I took some summer courses to finish my USC GE requirements. Now i figured out that i can also transfer those summer courses to my current university for course credit.

My question:

Is it to late for them to accept any new information like transcripts?

And second, do they care? Since the courses are all equivalent to each other.
(Ex: CC Math 1 = 4yr Math 01 = USC Math 001)

Its not like they are going to count both for credits. 4 units from CC math and 4 units from 4yr Math = 8 units.
Do they?

Will USC notify us by postal mail? Or by email? I’m currently away from my home address (where I told them to send things) and so I won’t know if they send by postal mail? Or will USCconnect be a reliable source of knowing the decision?

@CBS111 I have the same question. I am also worrying about not completing their GEs. They have their unique class selections that somehow not compatible with igetc :expressionless:

@hopefultrojan9 The spring grade requests for both me and my friend were coincidentally on the same day. April 9th.

@sorakeybade‌ sorry I wasn’t clear! I meant to ask when did you guys hear back about an admission decision?
