Official USC 2015 Transfer Thread

Where will you guys be living if you get accepted? I haven’t put a ton of thought into it.

Marshall applicant here too. Sent my transcript on May 13 and the submit button is still there. I emailed my counselor and she said that they received it. Honestly as long as you get the email receipt after submitting your unofficial transcript you’re good. They just don’t have the time to update you.usc

@Shortstop3 no, I didn’t get an email confirmation because I sent an official transcript.

@marinersfan13 I could only send it to the same address as I sent my fall grades to due to the limitations of my college’s transcript sending website. It’s a possibility it was the wrong address, since it wasn’t technically on the SGR, but I would believe that they could still process that.

@poisonx right, I figured as much.

@Shortstop3 I never got a letter for my SGR so I sent my transcript to the same address that I sent my fall grades. I’m worried that it might have been the wrong address but I emailed my counselor about it and hope that it will still be processed.

Ignore post / delete.

Annenberg applicant here and just got admitted!

@ahahanjun what is the date on your letter? And did you get it through the mail or portal?

@onmyway8 @ahahanjun Congrats! :-bd Not sure if you posted on the official decision forum, but do you mind sharing your major and stats? I’m an Annenberg hopeful (comm. major) still waiting on a decision.

@jasmine2468 I always had the impression that you would get the physical package first but I guess not. My portal was updated at midnight today but it says 5/22.

@futuretrojan93 I’ll post my stats on this page and the other one too.

College Transferring from: CC from the Bay Area

Entering as: Communications
GPA: 4.0 (not including spring)
Units Completed: 55
Units in progress: 18
Pre-Reqs completed: Took the recommended statistics course
GEs Completed: Completed all the GE’s + diversity + 2 semester of FL before spring semester (to make sure I won’t get an SGR and just chill during my spring semester lol)
ECs: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Club, College essay tutor (barely lol)
Job/Work Experience: Jamba Juice (40 hrs/wk), Busser at sushi restaurant (previous)
Essays: Worked hard on them.
Letter of Recommendation: 2 (one from Spanish prof. + one from Anthropology prof)
Other schools applied to: UCI, UCLA, UCSB, UCD, UCSD, UCB, CAL POLY SLO
Schools accepted: All except UCLA (only completed 3/7 pre-reqs)

I honestly think that transferring successfully is 90%+ GPA and finishing your required pre-reqs/GE’s. USC along with the other UC’s always talk about their “holistic” approach in terms of judging students but I highly doubt it. BUT the high school admission process is a COMPLETELY different story.

My buddy who transferred to USC last year had no work experience, no EC’s, and hastily written essays. But he got into USC as a PR major with a GPA of 3.71 (he finished all the pre-reqs/GE’s before his spring semester too).

If you guys finished the majority of your pre-reqs/GE’s and have a competitive GPA of 3.7 or higher, don’t stress cuz ya’ll got this.

Can you guys explain where you see your acceptance on the portal? you.sc.edu yeah? I thought all decisions were sent via mail?

6 waiting for Marshall… and yes during finals week too :frowning:

I swear I thought I was the only one and you guys are making me feel a little less alone :))) everyone around me seems to have gotten a decision but me! @chunkymonkey29

I’m a sophomore applicant and I haven’t heard anything back yet so I do lot think it’s all sophomores who receive an SGR. Also other sophomore applicants I know have not heard anything either.

Bugging out for tomorrow right now - really hopeful to see that package in the mail!

@ahahanjun Congrats!! About missing a few pre-reqs, I’m still really uneasy about that for myself. I got waitlisted at UCSD because of a missing pre-req for CS, and CS is hyper-competitive everywhere in the state, so it’s things like a missing pre-req that I think is going to really hurt me. Fingers crossed though, and congrats again!!

I got SGR on May 1. Im a TTP Sophomore applicant to Dornsife

@nicoley125 I got my SGR on May 1 for Dornsife. Im a TTP sophomore applicant though.

if you’re a sophomore applicant, a rejection that bad because you have one more try to apply to USC oppose to someone who’s a junior. (that’s how I’m thinking of it)
