@poisonx Right! I really hope I get a thick envelope tomorrow or Wednesday… If I don’t by then, I’ll probably start thinking I got rejected…
I think rejections are going to come out this week because it’s the last week of May
@poisonx Memorial day…
@undercovergenius don’t give up. At least I know I’m not yet since USC is the only school I applied to
@ForeverGymnast21 That too… I haven’t seen many Viterbi acceptances at all though save for 2 SoCal applicants who got their acceptance on Friday/Saturday. I think the bulk of Viterbi students haven’t even heard back yet. Not sure about the other colleges?
I sent in my SGR a couple weeks ago, my admission counselor specifically emailed me and asked me to send it to her email a few days after my you.sc updated, which was hopefully a good sign! when do y’all think SGR students would hear back?
@notphil what major did you apply for? Btw that does sound like a good sign, I’m jelly.
@jucery13 Business!
if we haven’t heard from now is it most likely a rejection:(
it seems pretty late for an SGR
Have there been any rejections thus far?
@erilee Last year people got an SGR as late as June 1st. Lots of people got accepted this week last year too.
@FordhamRam95 People don’t usually ever post if they get rejected, so maybe. I’ll let you guys know if I get rejected to add to the information pool though, I don’t mind.
Also for some reason this thread was way way way more active last year around this time. Overall it just seemed more active. Not sure what’s going on here.
@EnDeee
Hey, there. The majority of the people on this forum are from the U.S., so we can’t even give you an educated guess to your question. If your admissions counselor told you it would affect your decision, I would definitely take that in and prepare myself for the worst. However, it only AFFECTS your admissions decision, not necessarily governs a flat out rejection.
Good luck.
@EnDeee The scholarship is for incoming freshmen and transfer students for their appropriate academic years. The incoming class of 2015-2016 Norman Topping Scholarship deadline had arrived on the 13th of May,I believe.
@hoping4SC Yes, you are right. They only look at transferable course work.
so what exactly does it mean if we havent received an SGR yet…? furthermore is it not a bit ridiculous that USC waits this long, essentially making everyone stall on their living and conditions for next year?
Heres to hoping i get in lol, 3.5 gpa ccc transfer student applied for economics
So I emailed my counselor about sending in spring grades even though I haven’t received an SGR and he basically told me that the only applicants who recieve SGR’s are first year students and students completing a requirement. He then told me i could still send one to him in a PDF form. I don’t know if that means my application is still open or that they are still making decisions. Btw im a junior applicant
@anamazing so as long as those requirements are satisfied SGRed applicants have a good chance of getting accepted??
I am super paranoid right now about my SGR since I got a 3.5 on my winter quarter (got my first straight B ever in English, I don’t think anyone in that class got an A), and only have a 3.6 my fall quarter, I felt like there’s a chance that I won’t be able to receive a 4.0 this quarter to average the GPA out to a 3.7, and might fall short onto the 3.6/3.5 range

@anamazing Can you tell us what he said specifically about applicants who receive SGR?
