Official USC 2015 Transfer Thread

There’s no way I’m getting in for econ with 3.2 right?

SGR gives you no advantage over other students in the admission process, people need to relax! SGR is for students they can’t make a decision on because they don’t have their requirements finished. ITs a good thing if you don’t get SGR because that means you already finished your requirements and they don’t need anymore information from you to make their decision.

It does suck that USC takes this long to hand out final decisions but what more can you do lol

@MisterBelt quoted from email “We typically only request spring grades for students in their first year or who are completing a requirement. If you want to send one, you certainly can. You should email me an unofficial PDF of your grades, since official scores won’t reach us in time.”

@tak9usc I don’t really know how SGR’s work exactly, from another counsellors answer they seem to be just a check on grades and requirements, so it possibly could be a good sign of acceptance, but at the same time many people have gotten rejected with SGR’s

I have to stop checking the youusc it’s getting out of hand 8-}

@poisonx ditto. I was sitting by the window in my room today looking out for the mailman. I need to relax.

Is anyone else unable to log on to the portal right now? This is the message I’m getting:
“youSC is having trouble logging you in. We apologize for the inconvenience and ask that you try again later.
If this problem recurs, please contact us.”

Has the deadline been extended to June 2? Found this on the USC website:

“All transfer applicants who submit a complete application by the February deadline will receive a request for spring grades or an admission decision by June 2.”

@MisterBelt Interesting… YouSC still states

“We will be reviewing applications through the month of May, and we expect to be able to meet our commitment to notify transfers by June 1st.”

If you submitted your unofficial transcript via the portal and it’s still showing that you need to submit it, call the admissions office and have them update it. My counselor verified for me that she received it last week but it was just bothering me that the portal is still saying I need to submit it. The lady i spoke with was nice enough to fix that.

@RAHforHEE Thanks for your response. I have prepared myself for the worst, although it is difficult to give up before getting the final, definite decision.
Also, I didn’t qualify for the Norman Topping Scholarship as I’m not a U. S. citizen.
But thanks so much for responding. We’ll see what happens…

I just called and the admissions office said that decisions will be posted online at the end of this week.

@poisonx how long did you have to wait on the line?

It would be great if everyone could post not only SGR’s and acceptance but also rejections!

Does anyone know if SGR applicants will also know this week, or well after June?

Does anyone know if SGR applicants will also know this week, or well after June?

I also wonder the same thing as @smileyface31.However I doubt SGR people will here by June 2nd. Its probably for the people who haven’t heard nothing what so ever. When did you get your SGR and when did you send in your grades?

Sooo did absolutely noone on this thread get accepted today…? I hope this isn’t a bad sign

@jucery13 About 10 minutes 0_0

@msmclagirl Thank you SO much for the info! Does end of the week mean Sunday?

@hdahjuhshi Mailman came today and I didn’t have anything but car dealer ads. .__.

As ridiculously dramatic as this sounds, I swear I die a little bit every time I check my mailbox and there’s no thick envelope.
