@usc4mepls The date is usually what matters. If it’s still says 1/18/15 or even some date in February, it means they haven’t made a definitive decision. If it changes to a more recent date like let’s say, 5/22/15 and your stars report it still blank (as in not showing your major), that historically has been a bad sign. We haven’t really heard of any rejections so far, so I cannot confirm if that has changed for this year though. That is what happened to me last year when I was rejected though.
@zettasyntax does it make a difference that I submitted some required documents for my financial aid like last week
@zettasyntax my stars report doesn’t have a date though it says as of today I have no restrictions
@usc4mepls Does it matter for oasis? I don’t think it has much to do with financial aid. The only thing I recall from last year is that some options in the “financial information” tab of oasis disappeared for students that were ultimately rejected. I have no idea what other roles it might play though. Sorry
@zettasyntax oh whoops I’m sorry I mixed it up. I meant to say my spring grades were received and updated in my portal this morning! My financial information tab is still there! Plus I think we’re reading too much into oasis. My sisters both went to USC and didn’t even have access to their oasis when they got in until they were registering for classes
@zettasyntax I guess I’m just confused what the date is for under “no restrictions in activity as of ____” and how it is a bad sign because they just got my grades at the time and date posted
@usc4mepls Oh, in YouSC? I have little to no idea how that works, ha. It looks like the USConnect thing that they had last year, but different. True, access to oasis does create a bit of unnecessary stress. I kinda wish I didn’t have access to it. I’ve been checking my restrictions date like crazy these past few days.

I’m talking about the date I highlighted so crookedly. If that changes, in the past, it meant to expect some type of news within the next couple of days. You’re right though, it could be different this year and for people with SGRs, etc.
this was mentioned before, but does anyone know what the exact difference between the two types of sgr’s? it seems like i’ve received the unofficial one.
@emwrbrtn I live 2 hours away from the LA area! Probably closer than you though. I’m sure you’ll get it tomorrow if the financial aid email really is an indicator of acceptance! It sounds like it is so far!
Where does it state the restriction date?
@zettasyntax oh I just found it. My restriction date is 2/4
@plzuscplz Okay, then going by last year, a restrictions date being the same as when you applied and having the stars report empty isn’t a bad sign. The usual bad sign was having it change to a more recent date such as 5/22 and having it remain blank more than 3 days or so later. I’m not sure if that’s the same case for this year, but it does seem that those who’ve had their restrictions update and are accepted have their stars report filled out within the next day or two. So I’m undecided on whether or not it’s a bad sign this year as well since I’ve seen practically no rejections mentioned.
@zettasyntax thanks so much for the help. I’m a little bit less anxious now… But crossing my fingers for the next few days coming up!!
Has anyone ever experienced having access to the OASIS portal and then all of a sudden not having access to it? For some reason I was able to access it a couple of weeks ago, but now it won’t let me in
@plzuscplz The only thing that concerns me is that they don’t really have many days left to change the restrictions! If they need to notify us by June 1st, then Friday would have to be the last day they can change (since I assume the restrictions is done manually by our counselor or some person). I’m not sure if them not changing would mean that we’re perhaps getting an SGR? I hear the restrictions don’t typically change if you get an SGR; it changes after they’ve decided what to do after getting your spring grades.
@pumalover34 I haven’t heard of that
Did you maybe forget your password? I keep forgetting it is case-sensitive and wonder why it won’t let me in.
@zettasyntax I was thinking about the same exact thing, since restrictions take 2-3 days to change Friday OR Saturday would be like the last day…
UGHHH I’M SO NERVOUS HOW DO YOU PEOPLE DEEAL WITH IT
@TonyStark93 I know. I can’t say that I’m dealing with it very well. I check my restrictions like every 5 minutes
I think it has to be a working day for them to change the restrictions (I’m 99% sure that the admission counselor personally changes it), so I would really have to say that Friday is the last day and that’s worrying me like crazy.
I’m even more anxious now that people are getting financial aid emails and I haven’t got one. Kind of crazy that final decisions for the most of us will be made within the next 5 days…
Wait so I’m confused what’s this whole Kirk Brennan thing? Since my SGR is from him it’s not a real one? Someone please explain
