@iamthetopgun no, I have not received an email acceptance yet! My YouSC hasn’t updated either to tell me I was accepted. Also, I never had access to Oasis for those who are freaking out about that. Anyway, I’m not sure how you will know if you are out of town! Maybe a neighbor or friend can check for you? Or maybe I will receive a notification via YouSC or email soon. If I do, I’ll let you know!
@zettasyntax Can you clarify the whole SGR thing. Some people think that the email they got from Kirk Brennan is the official SGR. I thought so as well. Then my friend who applied got a very formal email in the form of a PDF or something. I read the email and it basically said that she was being heavily considered and that the decision was to be made based on her Spring grades. Since I did not receive the latter, should I be concerned?
I agree with @cs2015 ! My sisters never had access to any of this stuff and got in! We are all looking for signs and we just need to wait (as terrible as it is).
wait I got my SGR in my portal and the mail from Kirk Brennan so that’s not a real SGR? So does the real one look like and is it in your portal and comes in the mail?
@urirahimi if you check youSC there will be a message history that says “USC spring grade request” and a little to the right it will have a date of when it was sent. You click on it and it is a formally written letter from kirk Brennan that says “we are pleased to have received your app…” Blah blah “we have requested to see your spring grades before making a decision” there is a USC emblem in the left corner and is SIGNED by kirk. You should have also received it in the actual mail as well! I never had an email… But they wanted my spring grades and even included instructions on how to send them in properly. Yours was definitely the formal one if not in email form!

I got a very abnormal SGR myself last year. My counselor emailed me and asked only to see my spring grade in a math course I was taking and when I called the admissions office, they said that they had never really heard of such a thing.

@treetreetree Has your stars updated at all? I don’t want to say it’s bad because things have changed somewhat this year - people are notified by mail well before they ever see their YouSC portal update and such and this was not the case last year. If it were last year though, then yeah, that would be a bad sign. We have to wait and see though 
Mine hasn’t changed at all and I’m about 99.99% I’m facing rejection again this year.
@sunita18 no yeah it’s for sure the formal one. But that’s not to say people who had individual emails aren’t in the same boat as us! But yes the one in the portal is the formal one
Wait so, the SGR that is in the portal and that was physically mailed to us with a water-marked crest and signature of kirk brennan is the formal “real” SGR? I never got an email regarding an SRG :-SS I just kept checking the portal and got it in the mail
I didn’t get an email about SGR. I just got an update on YouSC and a pdf file which was letter sent to me by mail. The mail included directions to “expedite” the process. I didn’t know there were two types of SGR notifications…

@jasmine2468 I’m thinking the same! Already planning my appeal. Part of me is saying, let it go. If they wanted you at USC, they’d accept you & another part of me is saying to not give up! I mean, it doesn’t hurt to try & we have nothing to lose right! :-bd ~X(
@zettasyntax what would be the point of even updating it if they plan on sending the person a rejection? What would be the point of activity? Idk this stuff is too much
@sunita18 @usc4mepls I honestly don’t know what I am talking about. When I look at message history on yousc there is no “USC Spring Grade request” instead there are two notifications saying “Missing USC applications materials.” the letter that you received was most probably the formal official one or whatever. I appreciate the diligent response and hope I did not “freak” anybody out.
@zettasyntax I would be very surprised if you do not get in. I read your stats and saw your posts last year. Also, knowing that historically (or from what I’ve seen at least) USC really likes applicants that reapply after rejection. Goodluck

I just re read my SGR from Kirk in my portal and it says nowhere that I’ve been “strongly considered” @usc4mepls is it just implied
@sunita18 my SGR didn’t say that either! Mine just said we are please to have received your application.i think the strongly considered one was the informal email. @urirahimi not a problem! I think a lot of us on here are freaking out about things we don’t need to! Don’t worry about it!
