@zettasyntax Incorrect about the rejections, they send them all month long, just no1 posts they got rejected on here. IDK why ppl keep saying that, but it’s not true…
Question, so I just got an internship that would be good for my major and since I haven’t heard back at all I have a strong feeling that I got rejected, if I mention the internship in an appeal do you think that would help my chances for hopefully being accepted for the 2016 spring semester ?? Even tho I know that appeals don’t get accepted very often it’s worth a shot right ?
So basically if we don’t hear anything by tomorrow, it means it’s a solid rejection…
I’m keeping my head up, June 1st is not until Monday, it would be totally awesome if I got accepted on my birthday(May 30th) I wouldn’t say you are rejected if you haven’t heard anything by tomorrow
Starting to come to terms with the possibility of being rejected here… Which is really tough. I’m a 4.0 full time student, A+'s in all of my calculus courses, and I got waitlisted at UC Davis and UC San Diego, rejected from Cal. I did get accepted to UCSC. My heart is really heavy right now, I feel like I put a lot of work into my studies over the past two years and it’s not paying off.
@HappyLifeMachine I know what you mean. I came from literally failing every class in CSU because of an illness to busting my tail off working bringing up my GPA…
I don’t even know where to SIR to as my backup school… I have to choose between UCI UCSD UCSB
Hi everyone! I’m a sophomore Annenberg applicant. I got SGR’ed on May 22, live in SoCal but attended a private university in Texas for a year. 3.83 GPA. Haven’t heard back yet and don’t have access to OASIS either. This is so nerve-wracking! I’m hoping for the best!!! Best of luck to everyone who hasn’t heard back yet, and congratulations to those of you who have gotten accepted!
@ForeverGymnast21 You could try, but you have about a 1% chance of an appeal working. Especially this late, their logic is that you re-apply. appealing is basically a waste of time, but you never you could be the “one” that it actually works for, but keeping it real, i doubt it will do anything. Not trying to be mean, but being a realist here. Just try and find out why you got rejected(If you even get rejected, which you have no idea btw, so stop saying that you did until they tell you), and re-apply next year if possible. You will be apply to put that internship on your application plus have a chance to try and fix and improve what you need to. Plus if you are a sophomore now, it is WAY easier to get in as a Jr transfer.
Hey everybody, for those of you still waiting, keep your head up.
I felt like I was definitely rejected because I didn’t hear anything whatsoever and I did not have access to oasis. Everyday when I’d check my mailbox, I didn’t see anything from USC only adding to my discouragement. Just today, I checked again and there was my golden packet.
Stay positive, something good may be coming!
For those who have been accepted, about how long does it take for the portal to update so we can submit the commitment deposit?
anyone with the counselor sanjeev chahal been getting replies? i sent him an email and he isn’t replying. he usually replies really fast.
@TonyStark93 don’t rule out USC just yet! But you have excellent backups. Ucsb is an excellent school both academically and socially and I highly recommend !
@dreamingofusc I would be stunned, if you didn’t get in
@HappyLifeMachine with a 4.0 you should get in, if you don’t USC probably had a reason not to accept you, If you do get rejected and if you are a sophomore try and find out why they denied you and try to fix it, if you are a JR at least you have a school to go to and the possablilty of up to 3 you can choose
@5everclub the counselors are probably so busy this week, with ppl keep contacting them about wanting to know even tho they can’t say.
Seriously, ppl in this thread unless you have a legit question you need to be answered, don’t contact your counselor about your application, they can;t tell you if you have been denied or accepted, i can;t believe some of you guys in this thread are doing that…
@5everclub It’s a mad house in admissions right now, don’t get all worried about it. I emailed my counselor about something yesterday, didn’t get a response at all. They aren’t ignoring you, they are wrapping up admissions, which is what I imagine to be very hectic.
Im curious of the ppl transferring from universities; I feel like what’s the point? A degree is a degree. What’s the urgency to go to a different uni. Idk this is just interesting to me lol I understand ppl coming from cc because they absolutely NEED to get in to a uni for bachelor or any higher level degree. Just a thought. Sorry, good luck everyone.
@HappyLifeMachine If you don’t mind, what are your stats? I feel like 4.0 is fairly competitive.
@treetreetree ummmmm some ppl don’t like the university they are at??? Did you really just say a degree is a degree…You do realize USC and a university are different in regards to what you want to accomplish…
@collegebeans considering ppl the Avg GPA is around a 3.7 and ppl get in with 3.5 or higher a lot at USC, i would say a 4.0 is about the best you can do LoL
@TonyStark93 you got into universities ! Be happy! Be greatfull! Lol stop going crazy over USC you are very fortunate to have those other opertunities and choices man, appreciate them as someone out there is wishing for them. You got into some great schools, your stressing over USC is interesting to me. Good luck anyways
I almost sh*t myself today when I saw a plain white letter inside my mailbox with the words “University of…” and “admissions” I thought it was gonna be a rejection letter from USC. Turns out it was just my Uni letting me know they sent my official transcript to usc.
Also, I don’t know if I’m losing my mind but I checked my usc portal today and the bolded part was added today… it wasn’t there before
We have received your Common Application and USC Supplement, and it appears we require no additional information at this time. We will be reviewing applications through the month of May, and we expect to be able to meet our commitment to notify transfers by June 1st. **Sometimes, in the course of our review of applications, we find that we need additional information. In such cases we will email a request. If you receive a request for more information, please respond promptly. In some cases we need to review final, spring term grades. If we request these of you, we will provide specific instructions on how to submit your spring grades to ensure speedy handling. In these cases, we make our final decisions later, typically by mid-July. **
@treetreetree My university does not have the major I would like to pursue (which was decided after I had enrolled there).
