@trialo nobody knows. But a combination of what classes you’re taking, GPA, major progress and the like are usual factors.
@trialo Too many variables.
how does our gpa transfer over to Usc once we are accepted? will it become part of the USC Gpa, or will i have a brand new gpa to start from at usc?
just got rejected pretty surprise to say the least I got into all the UC’s and georgia tech not sure what went wrong I even applied as an engineer and biophysics major for a second choice… o well Berkeley it is good luck to whoever got in.
@notphil Brand new, homie.
Congrats! @usc4mepls Ha, guess that address change didn't get made in time, but thank goodness someone was still in your dorm room!
@piano1900 @notphil @thelakidd First of all congrats to all of you!! Second , when exactly did you guys send your spring grades? I sent mine on May 23 and I’m just trying to figure out when I’ll hear back. Thanks and once again congrats!!
@jucery13 i sent mine in around May 19th
Hey all, I am a transfer applicant to the marshall school of business from a CCC. I also received a SGR and I sent my spring grades on May 21st. I haven’t heard anything yet! My spring GPA was only a 3.5 but I did have a very drastic life event occur this semester, which I let USC admissions know about. When do you think I’ll hear back?
did your portal update? that is, on your messages tab, do you still have the generic we have received blah blah july blah blah?
@baberhamlincoln I’m in the same boat as you. We must be patient and wait for admissions to make a judgment. As far as I’ve been observing this thread, some receive a decision in as little as 4 days, whereas others have to wait longer. I think it all depends on the applicant’s circumstances, where the more prospective candidates, as in having a high gpa, generally will receive a quicker response.
@trialo @BaberhamLincoln I think it might depend on our admissions counselor. I’m applying for Marshall as a sophomore applicant (33 units complete), have a 4.0 and have completed both Econs, calc 2, english, and one other GE. I got an SGR on May 1st and sent in my grades May 16th and no response :/. Kind of bummed I haven’t received a decision yet, rejection or acceptance-- since I sent my grades in fairly early.
Rejected
@shortstop3 In support of my claim, I had also sent my SG around the same time. However, my freshman GPA (1.5) sucked and I have been doing considerably stronger at a CC. I just think that some applicants, such as my instance, will take longer to review.
@deathproof627 did you find out by mail or online?
@trialo ah gotcha! Well regardless, I’m sure you’re doing great now and wish you the best of luck! I agree with your philosophy, no point in stressing out about it! Just have to wait it out for a decision.
Does anyone know if junior transfers have a higher chance of acceptance than sophomore transfers do?
@deathproof627 can you plz post ur stats? Saying you got rejected w/o stats isn’t very helpful to the ppl in this thread.
@ForeverGymnast21 yes they do (i would assume), more ppl apply as Sophomore transfers then Juniors, so less competition…
@webo21 Thanks for sharing this. It’s a little daunting knowing that only ~30% of this year’s applicants are admitted. Although that was also the case last year.
@YoGabbaGabby96 Congratulations on your acceptance!!!
