@ForeverGymnast21 I don’t think they discriminate, however juniors benefit from having taken more units and possibly more advanced classes.
Portal finally updated for me and I was able to submit my deposit.
For anyone still waiting, there’s still hope! Good luck everyone!
Nothing in the mail today for me again. I am slowly making peace with the idea that I won’t be getting the golden taco… Anyone know if the portal updates on the weekends?
@shortstop3 as to you also; though my chances are slim–i’ve been countlessly rejected by almost all the UC and CSUs, USC is the school to have offered me a chance, a chance that appears seemingly close but also far.
@poisonx I really think the timing is purely based on our counselors , some may have more applicants… I really hope we hear by next week
I emailed my community college’s regional USC counselor with a fairly long and detailed email explaining my situation after my family tragedy happened. I had to drop a few classes but I still finished with a 3.5 gpa in the spring, finished with 60+ units, and had a lot of great internships and letters of recommendation. But the thing is, I only emailed my counselor and I didn’t upload it to the additional info on the USC portal. I just hope she passed along my information along to the other admissions counselors. (Marshall junior applicant)
@Jucery yep my portal says June 1st so I’m hoping they follow through! I’m looking forward to an answer.
@shortstop3 Who is your counselor?
@jucery13 I think that at this point if someone has an SGR and their decision is delayed, it’s because a.) They’re waiting till June 1 to send out the wave of rejections, or b.) they can’t make up their mind so they’re waiting for more spots to fill up so they can send an admission decision. My counselor said I would hear back by June 1, so either a decision has been made and the mail is delayed or I’m getting denied >:D<
@usc8Vmqb Do you know if it was updated at midnight or just recently?
@jucery13 Diana moreno.
I think at this point it’s too late to add any other compelling information regarding your grades or progress since decisions are most likely already done, unless of course you were SGR’d. I would love to explain a family tragedy 2 weeks before finals and how I was still able to maintain 4.0, but I most likely have already have been accepted or denied at this point:/ @BaberhamLincoln
@Sunita I am a junior transfer with 60+ units, 4.0 gpa, 3 x LORs (including accounting professor), strong work experience, and relevant extra curriculum. I believe the reason why i received a sgr was probably because my calculus (prereq) was in progress. Whatever you do stay positive and remain confident.
Does anyone have Kelsey Bradshaw as an admissions counselor?
At first I thought I would be accepted since I completed all the prerequisites and I have a 3.9 GPA and even took some recommended classes which weren’t required… At this point I’m kind of losing hope though
@jucery13 i did and i got accepted yesterday w/o an SGR
@MakeMilDolMove Hmm has your you.usc.edu updated? Congrats!!
@jucery13 I do!
@jucery13 no, You.SC portal has not been updated yet, hopefully it will soon.
@MisterBelt Whats your current status, did you get a SGR?
Mine wasn’t updated at midnight because I checked this morning and it was still showing that they "received my application and will let me know by June 1st. Checked again around 4PM and it changed. My acceptance letter was dated the 27th so I’m assuming it takes about 48 or so hours to update.
You will definitely know when it changes because an #AdmitUSC and a thumbs up icon appears in the top left corner and the list of options that you are shown is completely different then what it was before. (Submit Housing, Register for Orientation, etc.)
