Official USC 2015 Transfer Thread

@transfergirl0006 are you a sophomore or junior applicant? Why didn’t you apply elsewhere? It’s a good thing you were admitted then (: Yes it is and I wouldn’t want it any other way(:

Should I be worried if I haven’t heard a response back…? I received an SGR and I submitted mine today…
How do people who spent their first year at CC hear back so fast without receiving an SGR?

Junior applicant. But I think I’m going to do the progressive degree program to get a BA/MA and be here for 3 years. What about you?My dad is a professor here so it’s in my blood! I’ve always only ever wanted to go here! Where else did you apply/get in? Are you from the LA area?

@Mustang012 forgot to tag you lol

@transfergirl0006 That’s good, you should do that. I’m a junior applicant as well. I planned to do 3 years just for engineering since I’m missing lower division coursework and tons of GE’s since I focused primarily on math, physics and chem. However, if I double major with business administration then I would have to do 4 years, which could work since I want to get my masters in engineering as well. It must’ve felt great once you received your acceptance then! I applied to a lot of places: USC, UCSD, UCSB, UW-Madison, UCLA, UCB, Cal Poly SLO, Cal Poly Pomona, SJSU and SDSU, but I was only admitted to USC, Cal Poly Pomona, UCB and SJSU. I committed to Berkeley but I’m waiting on my financial aid for USC to see if I’ll change and commit to USC. No, but I am close. I live in Oxnard. What about you?

@Mustang012 yeah I’m missing a lot of GEs too. I avoided math and chem like the plague! I way prefer social sciences lol. Not to hate on USC (fight on) but UCB is a better school! Why would you possibly pick the more expensive/lower ranked school?!

@transfergirl0006 haha seems as though we’re complete opposites. My preference is math, physics and chem. It’s quite intriguing. Yeah I know, it’s in the top 5 for engineering, only behind MIT and Stanford. Money is a big issue for me, and even though USC is more expensive, they are far more generous with university grants in comparison to Berkeley. UCB was my dream school throughout high school, but I grew fond of USC and I can’t simply turn it down without completely thinking it through. Also, I’m still waiting on UCLA since I was waitlisted there.

@trnsfrstdnt Makes sense. I haven’t practiced Spanish in four years. I am very worried because I want to graduate in 2 years. Should I contact admissions to see how long it would take in order to graduate?

@ayemad i would somehow ask your counselor at USC or someone at your university if they know the answer to that 100%. im also in the same boat… i took spanish all throughout highschool and yet it’s quite sad to see that it won’t articulate over (even though for UC’s it does)

For those who are accepted to USC, anyone wants to get to know each other beforehand? I will be alone in a brand new place so… yeah… XD

Congratz on people who are accepted. If you have not yet receive an acceptance, great luck to you guys!

You may email me if you would like to drop a line and say hi :3 My major is economics.

Everyone is super welcomed!

@trnsfrstdnt I emailed my advisor earlier today. I want to graduate in 2 years in order to pursue my masters. So, I want to know if USC offers me the best opportunity to excel.

keep me posted and good luck! @Ayemad

Hey guys! So if my restrictions was updated this morning, I should expect the stars audit report to be updated tonight right? If it’s not updated tonight would that mean I’m rejected? Thanks.

Does everyone’s financial aid page say the message about the 3-5 business days thing? Or only people who have been admitted???

so i sent my financial aid documents (2014, K-1, S corporation, etc) on saturday (may 30th) and yet on usc financial aid it doesn’t say that they received it? should i be worried or give them a call? thanks!

@trnsfrstdnt Give them a call. Usually they have received the required documents; however, it takes them a bit to update it as “received” on the portal. Once you give them a call they’ll clear it up for you!

@jheintz I’ve been admitted and mine says that but it’s been like that for a couple months now.

Does anyone know how to apply for a commitment deposit fee waiver? Im a bit confused about how it works. Thanks

Have any of you spring admits committed?

Ahhhhhh! My Stars Audit Report has been filled out! It has my major and then says “Term of USC Entrance 20161 Current Class Level Freshman” Does this mean I’m in for spring since it says 20161? AHHH I’m so happy! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYONES HELP.
