Official USC 2015 Transfer Thread

@Mustang012 @Ayemad

I have a lot of lower division work that I can complete, too. I am in a situation where I HAVE to complete my degree in two years, especially if it will be at USC. Did you know you can defer your admission? Meaning, you can take off for an entire year, if needed, for whatever reason and enroll the next year without having to reapply. I talked to the counselor about doing this to complete a lot more lower division courses for my major at the CC. She said it was definitely possible, so I am in the works on making a final decision on that. I found the link to this information in the FAQ page of admitted USC students.

@jucery13 Definitely has some powers :stuck_out_tongue: My stars was filled out this morning, but for my alternate choice (sociology) I’m also a spring admit, which does suck a little! but I’m just happy they wanted me this year. I read previous threads that say it’s damn near impossible to switch into fall, but I want to try and give it a shot as I’m getting old and don’t want to wait another semester :stuck_out_tongue:

@RAHforHEE I considered deferring but for other reasons. However, I was told that you weren’t allowed to take classes during your deferal period unless it was only for a semester. But if your counselor said it was possible then maybe you can.

@Mustang012 Yeah, I managed to get two semesters because my reasons were more than just about finishing in two years. I have used 4 years out of the 6 possible years of financial aid, so I explained to the counselor that I feared I may have to spend an entire year on loans. I had to confirm with the FA office and everything. I think I had a valid reason. Can you imagine paying 60,000 in loans for one year of undergrad? Not going to do it, lol.

Hi guys… i am about to make my enrollment deposit but I think I am eligible for the fee waiver… “Request for Deposit Waiver” to waive the 300.00 deposit. But im not sure how it works or what im supposed to enter on the form. Can anyone advise me on this?

I’m thinking about putting in my enrollment deposit but I don’t know if I got a reasonable grant. They gave me 42k in grants alone. I would only pay 13k after loans. Is that good or am I just ridiculously broke?

imo that’s really good for a private! @poisonx it’s almost the same amount I have to pay for UC’s!

Hey guys… I got rejected and I don’t know why… I’m a current freshman right now (or just finished freshman year) and my first semester grades were 4 A’s and one B, and I filled 3 of the categories for the GEs… They didn’t even ask for a spring grade request. Anyone have any idea…?

@elmhsstudent Do you have two semesters of English/writing?

@jasmine2468 No, but the counselor said that as long as I finished my lower division writing requirement, that doesn’t matter.

@elmhsstudent sorry to hear that.

@Shortstop3 Any news?

update: financial aid received 1/3 of my documents (even though I submitted all of them in one envelope)

For everyone that got an SGR, did they send it through mail first or through portal?

@zettasyntax Bro we can be spring admit buddies lol. Im also definitely not digging the spring admission, I know its better then getting rejected. Im also trying to get bumped up to fall, but idk how that works, and I feel like doing that for business will be incredibly difficult.

@poisonx thats not bad, and you don’t need to live in the USC housing, you can live on off campus housing it should be significantly cheaper.

@elmhsstudent portal first and then mail.

@collegebeans still waiting for the mail! You?

Accepted!!! @Shortstop3 you’re next!

I saw a brown packet outside my door. My heart dropped. Turns out it was a stupid amazon package.
